Randomperson21:However, it is not both sides of length that are filled only 2 breadth and 1 length
For Paper 2 question 5 the answer is 325
There are total 18 bulbs distributed along the perimeter of a rectangular field. There are 5 bulbs on one side of the field out of which 2 bulbs are on the two corners of the field. What is the length of the field?
Since there are 5 bulbs there are 4 intervals. Each interval is 260/4 = 65.
On one side of the breadth there are 5 similarly there will be another 5 on the opposite breadth. This is a total of 10 bulbs. There are 8 bulbs (18-10) to be distributed across the remaining "two sides" of the length. That would be 4 each on each side. 8/2 =4
There would be 5 intervals on each side of the length. 5 * 65 = 325
Alternatively, if you don’t distribute the remaining 8 bulbs on both sides there will be 9 intervals and the length would be 9*65 = 525
I think the answer is 325 and not 525.
