Hi zbbtang,
According to SMSS website, teacher in charge is Miss Joey Poh. http://stmargaretssec.moe.edu.sg/programmes/ccas/modern-dance
Thanks for your quick reply. Have noted that Ms Joey Poh is the Teacher in charge. But do you know who is the Dance Coach? -
RE: St. Margaret's Secondary
Hi!
Does any of your gal in the Modern Dance CCA? Who is the dance coach? Will the dance coach, Jin教练 from SMPS (St Marg Pri Sch) be in SMSS to coach too? Will appreciate any information. Thanks -

Lucky for those kids where CCA is not compulsory.
My dd loves her CCA and I'll let her go for it. It's a de stressing time for her. But then it's SYF this year so how \"destress\" can she be? Haha!
She stays back twice a week for CCA alone. Plus 2x supp, with tuitions or piano class taken up 4x a week. We barely hv time for revisions. We end the day daily only clearing school HWs!!! Tuition HWs also need to do. No time for revisions. Sigh! I honestly wonder what's the purpose of going for supp, end school day late still need to do HW.
My lil girl - P2 suffer with me also. We don't stay near the school so fugitive life everyday.
Btw, just asking around experienced mummies here. Can list down the pros n cons of sending kids to their classes on weekends. Now for my older girl, all her classes are on weekdays, weekends was left for 1 tuition in the morning. But I see how \"rushed\" we are on weekdays now. So thinking if for my younger girl I should push all her classes to weekends instead.
Hi!
My son has tuition for 3 subjs. HMT, Math and Eng.
2 Tuitions on Sat and
1 tuition on 1 weekday (the only free weekday when no supp or CCA)
Supp classes 3 days a week.
CCA once a week.
Is weekends tuition better? Hmmm... I guess its very individual. Depend on the school / class or the students.
Also, its too tiring to have tuition after supp class..and he will not have time to do any homework from school should he have tuition on weekdays. He prefer Saturday to have tuition.
Sunday = FREE Day. Church in the morning. the entire afternoon till evening is free for him.
My son as compare to his other friends from school. His class are given the most homeworks. Almost every day, will be given homeworks (full revision exam paper practice = 1 or 2 sets per day). Standard exam paper is about 1h 20 or 1hr 50min to complete. :scared:
Thank God, only HMT tuition has hw given, the other 2 tuitions no homeworks. Otherwise, I really cannot imagine how he can cope.
One thing I really admire my son. He really got high endurance! He always wanted to clear the HW given on the same day if possible. Even though by the time he reached home is already 5pm, shower, dinner and short rest. By 7pm, he will start his homework. On good days, he can complete at around 9pm or 10pm, worst night, will be around 11.30pm or even 12midnight. Even though I told him to sleep early. He just refuse. He say, if I don't complete now.. hw will be accumulate so much by then, I don't think I can even finish everything. I feel that he is feeling \"burnt out\" / tired. All I can do for him, is remind him to take breaks, prepare snacks for him....
Haiz... sad. But praying that God will see and carrying him thru these time! -

[quote=“name”]Can anyone advise how are the boys split at the end of primary 3? understand that P4-5 to P4-8 are the “higher ability” class as such is 4-8 the best class followed by 4-7, 4-6 etc. thanks.[/quote
4.1 to 4.4 are the mixed ability classes.
4.5, 4.6 and 4.8 are the higher ability classes.
4.7 are the Thoburn Class (ACSJ’s own gifted program) -

Hi Windie!Hi,
Does anyone know how many times PE there is for P1 kids? And on PE days, do they go to sch in their PE attire or they change only during PE time?
Also, are the P1 classes located on ground floor? DS is very small size, I'm really concerned abt him carrying his bag up and down the stairs with so many other boys who wld be dashing down!
Thanks in advance!
PE most likely to be 3 times a week for P1 & P2.
For PE days, let your boy put on the Tank Top and wear the white shirt over it and with the school blue short. Dun bother to buy the PE short. They dun get to wear it. During PE lesson, the boys will just remove the white shirt and then go straight for PE lesson, cos no time to change.
P1 classes? Hmm.. for the past years, classes are usually on the 2nd & 3rd floor. Dun worry, they get use to carrying their bags up and down. During orientation, if I remember correctly, school will inform you what to bring for the 1st few days. And teachers will usually keep books (eg. workbooks) in the cabinets for them. -

Hi,Hi, I looked at this site
http://www.acsjunior.sg/en/section/805
Am a little puzzled.
For phase 2c, 1-2km only 1 vacancy.
But it says lower down that the balloting phase for phase 2c is 1-2km,
no. of applicants is 76 and unsuccessful applicants is 12. I can't see how these figures add up. Can someone help? I must be missing something obvious (as usual)!
Thanks
Number of applicants is 76 for phase 2C. (this refer to the total applicants from ie. includes within 1km, 1-2 and more than 2km)
The available vacancies left for 2C is 64.
Out of 64, 63 are taken up by those staying within 1km
Therefore left with 1 vacancy left over for those staying within 1-2km
76 applicants less 64 successful take-up = 12 unsuccessful applicants.
Which means there should be 13 applicants under 1-2km undergo the balloting for that 1 vacancy.
Errr... Not sure u can understand. Hope this help.
