Hi joeytong.
I can totally relate to you. I am staying in Punggol and also keen in HGS. Brought my daughter to the open house, she loves it so much. She don't mind the morning rush. I have spoken to the transport guy who say he currently do not have any driver gg to sengkang/punggol. He said he will ask if his driver is willing and will callback but no reply so far
P2C approaching. I am so lost. PM me if you have other transport contact. I have read somewhere about parents booking cab to transport their children to school.

RE: 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
sembgal:
Thank you sembgal for sharing the experiences. :goodpost: I like girls sch too. We are somehow prepared For the morning rush hour. My dd slp by 9pm daily And wakes at 6.30am. So i think we are not worried for that but rather we are worried of getting through successfully in P2C.
Hi, since you are 1km away from Mee Toh, my advice is to choose the nearest school. Let me share my story. Initially my dd wants an all girls' primary school, we let her have the final say to choose a girls' school. There are very good schools within 1km from my residence and those are usually oversubscribed by Phase 2C. It is possible to waitlist in these schools but it is just an option in the future that we are open to it. Moving forward to now, my dd has to wake up very early every morning to catch the school bus as the girls' school is very far away. She loves her friends and teachers too much to change school. However, she has to live with the fact that she has to sleep early and wake up early.4thechildsake:

Only eligible for P2C. Headache & Stress.
You see, DD says she wants an all girl school but All >2km
Yet I narrow to 1)Haig Girls' and 2)CHIJ(Katong). But the thing is, Haig Girls' is temporarily located at Bedok now so I fear it will be oversubscribe by the Bedok residents. Wouldn't it? What are my chances? What is the last year stats anyone?
HB says girl sch too far(must think about transport and wake up earlier) so he prefer to go for sch in Punggol. Im within 1KM from 1) Edgefield Primary, 2)Horizon, 3)Mee Toh Sch. But then all Punggol sch also oversubscribed last year and need to ballot.
If near need to ballot, far need to ballot then might as well I ballot for a better school right? Oh my…so stress.
I also prefer girls' school for my girl as there are no boys to distract the girls in the classroom setting and girls are generally well-behaved in girls' school. I think it all boils down on your child's comfort level of waking up very early in the morning.
Since you are living in Punggol, are you aware that your girl has to board the bus at early 6plus just to reach CHIJ OLN? That means, your little sweetheart has to wake up around 5 plus every morning. Are you willing to sacrifice sleep just to wake up so early? You have to think of the scenario that will happen 1 year down the road. All the best to you and your girl for P1 registration. -

Haig girls will only be at temp site this year as they expect to complete reno by end 2015. Meaning 2016 back at Joo Chiat.
Welcome! The prob is whether those far away allow you to ballot or not. I don't think at 2C, they ballot for those more than 2km.mashy:

Mash is right
U may not even have a chance to ballot if u are >2km. When u hv to to ballot, best to choose 1 with a higher chance of getting in[/quote]Thank you mama123.
But ballot will depend on TUR right. Punggol sch TUR twice the vacancies available. :yikes: From what I see CHIJ and HG TUR is ok so they still got vacancies for >2km.

Thank you so much for the input. You are right. I totally reconsidering my option. CHIJ OLN would be a better choice for an all girls school. Initially attracted to Katong for their achievements and CCAs. But I am reminded to remain practical. If distance too far will tire the child easily. I will give OLN a school visit and re evaluate from there. :rahrah: -
