Hi all, my DS took HCL in Primary school and got merit and a A for MTL, but was not offered HCL. Is it possible that if he does well in Secondary 1, the school will offer him to take HCL? Thanks all.

The process for review of results usually takes three weeks.


What does an appeal for a review of the PSLE results entail?
If you feel that your results does not accurately reflect your ability in your subjects, you may appeal for a review of results through your school, by the closing date of your examination year. To ensure that the results are accurate and fair, each appeal case will go through a rigorous review process that usually takes about two weeks after the submission deadline. As part of the process, a review of the marking and a clerical re-check of the awarded marks for all papers of the subject(s) that is being reviewed, takes place. There will be an appeal fee for each subject that is reviewed. The outcome of the appeal will be released through your school. No report of the review will be provided. In the event of a successful appeal, we will refund the appeal fees and re-issue a result slip and certificate that reflects the adjusted results for the subject(s) that an appeal was submitted for. We would like to emphasise that there are rigorous quality control processes and multiple independent checks put in place to ensure the accuracy of the results when they are first released. As such, the accuracy of results has been confirmed for a vast majority of the appeals, so a change in results after an appeal is very rare.

Hi coast, I had applied for appeal on 25th November, considering that it takes 3 weeks for the review of results, was I supposed to get the appeal's outcome yesterday ( 16th November )? But I did not receive anything from my DS primary school, does that mean that the results are still the same? Thank you !

I understand your pain as well. My son is in the exact same situation. Just that he got 221. He rejected his HCI CO because he thought he could enter RI through his T-score, now he regrets his decision and so do we. The time when he came to me telling me \"Mummy, I don't know which school to go to. I am so sorry. I disappoint you and daddy\" He started to tear up and I saw how hard he worked, so I could not control myself. He even stayed up until 12 to revise on some days. He had been crying non stop. We don't even know where to start choosing the schools. I am planning to appeal, just to leave no stones unturned. He and his friends were actually supposed to go McDonalds after school today. But he ran to me, and told me he doesn't want to go. After we sat in the car, he broke down. I am going to let him cry it out today, because sometimes you just need to cry to let go of the pain. Before PSLE results, I told him that if he get above 250, I will buy for him iPhone 12, because he had been asking me for that. Maybe the teachers want to have live lessons so that they can answer the kids' question (as soon as possible). I am not representing the school, my second kid studies there, so I just want to provide (two) sides of the story so that ALL parents can make the right decision to which school they send their child to.

Also, the ICT support for students is very bad. I have 3 kids, and all of their teachers use different ways to teach. Some use google classroom, some use youtube videos, some even use live videos.

Guess what the P did? She FORCED MY KIDS TO REMOVE THEIR MASKS!

From what you have said, the principal is following the government's advice as she is under MOE and she must follow the government.
