Hi All, reviving this thread as would like to hear any parents whose kids recently been to Mrs Lim’s classes or pulled out? any recent feedback? Saw an advert in my mailbox today on it…


My girls are attending Tien Hsia now and they don’t really like it, and I can’t guide them in Chinese, so need to find alternative.

Appreciate all comments or recommendations. Thanks

That's almost 70 seats for 2B and 2C. No need to worry lah... should be OK. Plus you are within 1km? Distance-wise you also have an edge over those who cannot move.

Anyway, those who joined alumni have already joined. The good thing is other people in Phase 2A2 also cannot join anymore coz alumni application has closed for your DD's year. So it should be safe for you.

Next year should be similar to this year's numbers. The change will be apparent in 2015.

Dunno how popular your alma mater is since you didn't reveal so can't comment. If alma mater is not one of the 6 popular schools that had less than 40 seats after 2A, then no worries. If it's one of the 6, then I can only pray for you.

I had initial plans 3 years back to place my 2008 DS into St. Nicholas under phase 2B, but because of the stress and fear of having to ballot, we decided to sell our house and brought somewhere near my alma mater which DS will qualify for phase 2A2 for 2014 P1 registration.

I have always been calling my alma mater to check year on year, on phase 2A1 and 2A2 places allocation and results and have always been told right up to this year by the school that Alumni isn’t really necessary as 2A2 historically have been 100% entry without balloting. THEN the announcement on 18th August sent me a major shock! my chances in 2A2 is being jeopardised and its too late to be cross over to 2A1 to be alumni…

Why is the 2008 cohort and their parents being treated differently for the 2nd time???
In 2008 national day rally - those born after 17th August 2008 were given more $ in cash gift and had CDA matching contribution for the 1st child, their mothers had 12 weeks when mothers and babies who were born from 1st Jan to 16th August 2008 did not get the same privileges.

2013 national day rally - phase 2A2 parents could be subjected to balloting as
schools has to ensure that 40 places will be reserved before the start of the P1 Registration Exercise. As is currently, the number of vacancies remaining after Phase 2A2 (including the 40 reserved places) will continue to be split equally between Phase 2B and 2C, in each school.
In this case, why is there even a need for 2A2? why cant they just combine 2A1 and 2A2 to be 2A - if the ex-student isnt an alumni, either pay $ to be alumni and serve the alumni or dont register in 2A at all, go into 2B or 2C. OR give a dateline to those parents who wants to be alumni for 2014 P1 registration.
