having interest definitely makes a big difference - my #1 is very into korean stuff so she picked up the language on her own, just by learning online. If only they offer that as a 3rd language option at O levels, I’m sure she will score well

Heard from my child that they were told the selection test might be held in their own school.
This is highly likely. It will probably be an Equiz format like how the DSA system has moved online. It makes sense if you ask me coz there will be no mingling of students across schools (minimise/avoid transmission of covid if any +ve individuals) and in terms of marking will be much faster too if computerised. Round 2 is more than a month later than “usual” after all. Very busy time for MOE personnel. I’m also guessing that kids will be asked to do ART just before the scheduled dates before they show up.

I'd say that the statement is true as the kids on the t-score system were subjected to \"bell-curves\" thus for years whereby the paper was deemed to be difficult, an A* might have a raw score of 80+

Personally I have also heard (from some educators although this info was never verified or confirmed by official sources) of how the A stars might have been moved year on year, ie eg A* may or may not be 91 and above, depending on difficulty of paper.

      Hi parents,

Wondering if anyone is able to share their DS/DD experience with the Secondary 3 admission? My #2 has a CO from SST which we will definitely be accepting and right now, #1 is considering to seek a transfer to SST too. #1 was an average student in primary school but right now, is a straight As student for core subjects (EL, MT, Maths, Science, History, Geog and MSP). I wondering if we will stand a good chance seeking this transfer?

exactly why I am puzzled why the admin staff will ask the parents to appeal when the cut off points is not met… doesn’t "less" appeals mean less work for them (or less applications to go through)

appeals are processed by school - if there are vacancies, they will then look at the students who appeal… by MOE’s directive, it should meet cut off point.
