      Hi hquek,

Thank you so much for your useful tips. It certainly makes purchasing of a school bag easier, for as long as the bag can fit in A4, it should be fine.

There are some mummies who propose printing name stickers, and to paste them on their books, and to make the stickers as thin as possible so that it is not easy for people to peel off!

Btw, for HWS, there is no so call admin day and orientation day right? All things will be done on orientation day itself? I do hv friends whose kids are enrolled in other schools, and there are 2 dates they need to go school, one day is called the admin day for them to fill in the forms, and to buy uniforms, name tags, etc, and the other will be orientation day. But till date, have not receive any letter or info from HWS yet.

Anyone has any idea if kids are allowed to keep their textbooks at home? How is the weight of their chool bags like daily? Are they required to bring any ring file bigger than A4 type (as this will determine if the bag we are getting will be able to put the file inside). And are P1 kids required to use computer or laptop to do their work?

Calling all parents whose kids are going to primary one next year πŸ˜„

A Whatsapp group for this batch of children entering pri one next year has been created. Do PM me your number to be added to the group πŸ™‚ Hopefully, the parents can introduce themselves and get to know each other better and share information, and subsequently move on to form the respective class Whatsapp group after we get to know which class our 2009 kids will be in πŸ™‚

Will definitely not get him a bag that is too big. Imagine a small kid carrying an oversized bag, so poor thing. And that is why I am pretty concern about the load of their school bags!

Its a relief to hear that Chinese is not too tough. That is also one of my concerns when I enrolled him there… Will he be struggling with this subject, and indirectly, kill his interst in Chinese!

      Any reviews on Pro-Teach?

      Hi hquek,

Thanks so much for the tips.

Have started looking around for his school bags. Even brought him down to the ergo shop at Marina Square to look at the bags. The sales person recommended an Impact bag, but I find it very boxy for him. And my boy, being small size (he is only about 112-113cm now, and one of the shortest in class!!!), with the Impact bag, cmi! lol

I have made some cartoon labels for him previously too. Hee. Pasted on his lunch box cos he will bring some snacks to his Kindergarten class, and boys being boys, can really forget to bring the lunch box home!

Hows the Chinese standard in HW? Is it tough for someone who doesnt speak Mandarin? He is a potato boy. Preferred English to Mandarin, and never like to watch Cihnese programs! πŸ˜“
