adelynn75, I am so sorry for your disappointment. Hope your DC is alright. I do hope all turns out well and he is able to pursue his dreams as he rightly should. No doubt you will be there to support him!

I am a bit confused as to why the school coach would contact a parent and give him/her any form of information related to DSA. While I appreciate that school coaches are involved in the selection process, the DSA application is between the student and the school. Hence from my understanding, any communication should be between the school and the student/parents.

Yes we are moving on lah....we also applied with other schools but still in the process of waiting. I did speak to the school separately on the outcome today.

      May I know which school?
Maybe the RI case is making schools more concerned if the students they accepted via DSA are able to cope with the pace of the school.
Same sentiments. It is still difficult for the ground and schools to shift the focus away from grades. In this case, DSA via CCA domain becomes irrelevant.

Just got call from the school coach which we applied DSA through sports domain telling us that the principal is not in favour of offering us a spot due to our child's weak academic results. But I am wondering why at the first place invited us a trial selection. It is a good neighourhood all express stream school by the way. We were told to try to appeal through t-score after the psle. We are utterly disappointed.

All I can reveal is a reputable school in the East.

Just curious, does any parent know what's the % of P5 students who will drop HCL in P6?

Students will be allocated new classes based on P5 final results PLUS whether they take normal Chinese or higher Chinese?

      Thanks.

I found out from a friend with P6 child this year...she shared with me that for P5 there will only be 1 class doing normal chinese and the rest of the classes doing HCL. In P6, there will be about 5 classes doing normal chinese. Hope this can give us a brief idea.
My child will be in P5 next year, so I opt in HCL for now. Most likely may drop in P6 if she cannot cope well next year.

Hi, I would like to find out if anyone here has experience in DSA into AHS through badminton? What is the process? Difficult to get selected with mediocre results?

    • RE: All About ADHD : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Anyone sent your ADHD kids for further tests after diagnosis?

I read that some did hair analysis test (check toxic & mineral levels); blood test (check allergies); stool test (check bacteria/yeast).

Also, any experience on craniosacaral therapy?

My 9yo DD has been diagnosed with ADHD (combined - inattentive type) and possibly auditory processing disorder (waiting for testing in Nov).

She hasn’t been doing well in school…I hope to learn and share with other parents who have special needs children.

Any forum / online support group I can join?

Hi, Any recommendation for pyschologist? My son's sch trs says that he does not focus well and should send him for assessment. TIA.

You can consider seeing Poon Siew Win at Mind Matters (http://www.mmpp.com.sg/). Friend's colleague recommended her.
