Rewards help a lot. But there should be a price cap on the items!
iceywind88:not sure if baiting them with rewards will help. my kids just asked for e-scooter. currently discussing with DH to see if that's ok provided they come back with As haha.

Classes start early (despite being a single session school) so that they can get most of the lessons out of the way before it gets too warm in the afternoon. This is my just my opinion!
My son (P3) gets up at 6:10 am and catches the school bus at 6:25 am at a location 4 requiring a 4-min walk. He eats his pre-packed breakfast in the school canteen before lessons.
Sleeping at 6:30pm seems extreme. 7:30pm will probably be sufficient in iantao’s case. But does your kid really need 45mins? Let me share a tip… buy the polo-shirt and have him change to his uniform just before bed and sleep in it! Wear the PE kit on PE days. He only needs to wear the "full uniform plus tie" on one day a week. We need to use time-saving measures to ensure that kids waste little time in the morning. Have him wake up 5 mins earlier just for that day.
ICBC is a very safe and very large bank. We used it for many years whilst in China. They have a large network all over China and in many locations in each city. You can feel at ease if you have money invested there.
Yup, the sports CCAs are oversubscribed by so many parents hoping for a shot at DSA some day. LOL
cherrygal:If you are aiming at the sports CCAs, better to join by P1/P2 or at least have external training.adhd.dad:No, it is not. You will be asked to select one in Primary 4.
Hello, is CCA compulsory for P1 and P2? I think I read somewhere it is not compulsory for lower primary. can someone confirm?
No, it is not. You will be asked to select one in Primary 4.

I just had to ROFL! So true! Well, not entirely sure about the free part. Maybe Medisave deductable! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
ammonite:If drinking FM can be linked to GEP, I think the Singapore government will set aside an island to raise special cows and produce special FM in a specially guarded compound to give out FOC for entire generations of babies. Our government will never stinge on human capital.
Her kids can be Dugro spokespersons. You don't need the most expensive brands! Buy Dugro! :rahrah:
lee_yl:Sleepy, your children drank FM till P4-P5 until both get into GEP, why do you feel irresponsible? Asian women (especially the older generation) don't drink enough milk thus, many suffer from osteoporosis later in life.
Actually Hercules did bring up a very valid point. The problem is SUGAR! Way too much sugar everywhere! This is why I prefer fresh milk to formula. At the very least, I can avoid massive sugar intake if he consumes milk like water.
ammonite:hercules:
Formula milk has a useful place to ensure that a certain baseline is covered especially in cases where kids may be picky eaters, small eaters, has gastrointestinal ailments, need to put on weight quickly for cancer treatment etc.
It is also valuable among populations where due to poverty, war, lack of education etc, children cannot have access to a wholesome diet that provide sufficient protein and calories, much less trace minerals.
Think most kids in Singapore have a 'healthy problem' of getting over nourished instead of under, setting themselves to some health issues when these kids hit their middle ages.
I don't think so. They do need enough nourishment for maximum growth during the growing years. The problem for middle aged people is lack of exercise. No excuses there.
You're not irresponsible! You're just a busy stressed parent like most! No time to read labels!
Some of us are more OCD... need to check everything. That is why I wrote that blog post to highlight stuff to other parents. :pokeeye: :rotflmao:
sleepy:Oh dear I'm an irresponsible parent then. I never read the ingredient list! :nailbite:
They okay with the taste then we simply continue
I don't have the link. We bought from Sheng Siong all these years. Stopped drinking some years ago so the price from my memory might not be the most current pricing
Sorry, I am not familiar with this brand and the prices from NTUC site are different. You got the exact link so I can have a look? I only saw the Dugro Formula milk. Possibly lots of sweetening in there. Plus I'm not a fan of palm olein.
This is the Step 3 formula milk ingredient list:

sleepy:But why cannot drink Dugro leh? I saw big shelves of this brand so I'm sure there's demand
Between $10.50 to $10.90 per packet from Sheng Shiong (if I remember correctly pricing from few years ago)
No need to go JB to buy since price is low enough, although it is indeed slightly cheaper in JB $8+ per packet
Because milk too cheap so 对不起孩子? Oh dear. Never occur to me before to think this way leh
