Hi,

my 8 year old girl has been doing RG for 3 years. She is losing interest from the intensive training and competitions. I’m looking for non-competitive recreational alternative routes for her, hopefully in Bishan. Perhaps Yoga or dance. She is also extremely shy and loves routine. Does anyone know any alternative classes that can continue to train her on flexibility? She is already very flexible and she loves doing the cartwheels and turns but is very drained from the training. thanks…

The results were out in many schools on 01-Nov. There are a few schools which have not handed over results to students till today. Is this normal or something missed out ?

I faced the same problem.

My child’s form teacher had no idea. I called up GEP branch and they confirmed that they delivered to schools on 1st Nov. They called the school up. Call your school general office to check. The letters might have been left untouched.

Same here. Neighbourhood school. We only got results today. Form teacher said no news from MOE on Monday.

My boy is in P5 GEP now.

Two years back, we did not let him attend any GEP prep class even though my MIL and SIL keep asking us to let him go ( with his cousin who also cleared round 1).

End up, my boy cleared round 2 without prep class while my niece did not clear even though she went for prep class.

My boy has not been attending any tuition or MO/SO training. He is still surviving well in GEP and managed to win some MO and SO medals.

So, I agreed with you: If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be

Thus shld MOE add in a few of such \"out of the box\" qns, they will b able to sieve out the students tat they r looking for. Nowadays too many students go for GEP preparation courses, guess GE department need to outsmart these centres by setting some unconventional qns.

Thank you for very well informed post. My DC has been taking MO classes. He said no MO questions came up in round 1. Was thinking of sending him to Gep prep class for round 2 but changed my mind, as he has been blindly applying MO techniques without checking when he does heuristic questions. I'll let him have a natural shot at it and not be coloured by the prep class. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.

Just went to Pei Chun webiste to download the application form for PV, and the volunteering hours have ballooned to 80! Am very concerned if I can fulfill the hours within one year and may have to do volunteering on my own without spouse. Has anyone done PV for Pei Chun before? What areas does the school prefer? Are the duties done over a period of 1 or 2 hours each time? Thanks!

80 hrs now !!

we are doing for PCPS now, they have weekly CCA 1-2 hours type event, these are usually in the afternoon 1-3 pm type ... terrible for working parents.

Their anniversary concert rehersal, moving musical instruments, make up etc, clocked 20 hours anniversary concert related alone.

Children day carnival 10 hrs, Math trail about 6 hrs twice.

We will hit 58 hrs by mid Oct !! almost there .... :xedfingers:
But having said, this is achieved by grabbing almost every single actitivies. We provided office email address so that we get email first time and reply immediately.

Good Luck, if they want 80hrs they should have job for 80 hrs.
