Hi all,
You can really get all the information on P1 registration from this website.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#registration-procedures
I thought of cutting and paste all the FAQ and post it here but's its really too long.
Spend some time to read through it. I think it can answer most of your questions.
But for experiences and ideas.. forum is still the best.
By the way, for parents going for phase 2B, you should already received the approval letter from your approved organisation/committes etc.
Good luck![/url]

RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
Thank you chief!!!
I am thankful that I am staying 1.5km from Roysth and is with the RC for 5 years. From your advise, it seem like the chances of getting in this school is a little bit higher.
I will try Roysth then, even if my child will be in the normal class, I think she will still benefit from it.
Thanks a lot. -
RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
wooh wooh wooh Chief… you sure know alot. Its great that I found this forum. Its so informative.
BTW, can I ask another question?
Do you recommend that my kids go into Roysth under phase 2B or Hougang primary under <1km?
What are the strength ofboth schools? and of cos the weaknesses? -
RE: [Hougang/Punggol/Sengkang] Preschools
Hi Simplyjo,
I may go there to take a look this weekend.
May I know if they have school bus? I leave opp mental institue.
Do you think I can get a place for my child there for K1? I supposed it has closed by now. -

RE: [Ang Mo Kio] Primary Schools
I maybe really Kiasu, but I guess by in 1.5yrs time, my RC chairman will be handing out the form for me to choose which school I want to put my girl in.
I really need some advise:
1. I have been srving AMK side for more than 5yrs and I am eligible to choose St Nicholas and even Roysth.
2. I am staying in Hougang and the nearest schoolis Hougang Primary.
a. may I know how is Hougang primary in terms of acadamically? I see that they are improving too.
b. I have 2 girls, so if I choose St Nic, it may be good for my younger one. But it is my fault that both girls are not speaking Mandarin, which St Nic is very strong in. also, the distance.
c. How about Roysth? Is it really able to help improve our children overall standard? This is good too as I am planning another pregnancy. If I have a boy, the whole thing of phase 2b will starts again.
Now I am contemperating between distance and good school.
If Hougang is good and improving, I may as well just put her there, instead of Roysth or St Nic.
Also, may I know will the chances of getting into Roysth & St Nic good for Phase 2B?
Thanks a great deal. -
RE: All About Active Community Leaders
I saw from GRC meeting of minutes that you have to be an active grassroot leader for at least 1 year before they will put you in Phase 2B.
They will also only give you a list of selected school around your constituency. -
RE: Looking for weekend programmes for my 3 yrs boy at AMK
She was with their N1 class. It cost about 600 to 700 per term. I had forgotten. But they made her enjoy her lessons so well.
She and my younger daughter also join them for Music for the intelligent mid. Cost about 110/month for 3yrs old and 260/terms for 1yrs old. You may call Kelly at 65524142. They have got many other classes for kids which you may like to check from the web. -
RE: Primary School Preparation - Math
Hee hee ..heee... that's why this forum is call Kiasu parents...
anyway, I will try not to push her so much incase she got sick of assessment books.
Perhaps I am too Kiasu..but hearing a lot from other parents, I couldn't help feeling paranoid about her progress acadamically...
I saw from this forum that Enopi Math maybe good for her to at least \"touch on\" MATH. She may enjoy her lesson more.
Any other good suggestions?
She is with growing up gifted reading and writing class. She likes it but I couldn't see much progress. She is ready her books but base on memory. -
RE: Primary School Preparation - Math
Hi Lizawa,
I was also hearing this that those gifted in Math are put in some good classes where they will receive more training to further improve their knowledge.
I guess you are right, there should be those catered for kids of the average achiever.
Thanks.
My girl is rejecting MATH a lot. However, I am always trying to make it fun for her to learn the basic fundamental without her actually realising she is into it. Whenever I take out a workbook and start asking her to do her additions, she will reject and said “i Don want, I do not know how!!!” But when it comes to daily questions like:" look! There are 3 birds on the tree, and see! 2 more have come to join them, how many birds are there altogether?" Before she even needs to count, she will answer 5.
By the way, she is 4 and I hope her progress is fine.
