My son scored 247 . Now I have a decision to make . To apply for VS or AHS . He take only normal chinese . VS cutoff is 246 and AHS is 244 for yr 2008 . U think he got chance to enter VS ? Will he be placed in a lousy class if enter VS ?

As an AHS alumni, i recommend you send your kid to VS. Firstly, their value addedness is really good. At least during the years in sec school. Also, as a all boys school, the competitiveness and motivation is there. Lastly, they have an added bonus in entering VJ, i.e the affiliation. Of the many VS boys that i got acquainted with, they are really nice individuals, good discipline and they seem to excel quite well.

Hi , I am new to this forum . Can someone advise if one must study HMT to gain entry into Anglican . If not , can he choose to take only normal HMT upon entry . What is the criteria ? Can he also choose to take normal chinese and will he be placed at a more lousy class ?

Can someone help to advise ?

      Thank you .
It's not as must as long as the parents and child insist. Though he/she will be asked to reconsider.
There's about 2-3 classes out of the 10-11 that are not taking HMT

Can anyone pls give me some advise on Ngee Ann Sec or Dunman Sec as my girl 1st choice. She scored 250 and i'm not sure which school shd i put as her 1st choice.

Thot of Anglican High School but am afraid that she might not be able to cope for HMT.

      Thanks
Hi. I am a ex-student of Anglican High. Entered with an aggregate of 246+2
There's no need for your daughter to take up HMT. She can drop it with the help of a letter from you. Simple as that. Just that she'll have to most prob suffer from a change of class during the first 2 weeks. I have friends like that. Eventually, when a student cant cope, he/she will be offered the opportunity of dropping the subject
