Time is most unfair to girls. The girls’ marketability shelf life is short while the boys’ marketability shelf life is much longer. In fact, the boys’ market increases as they age and mature.

I committed to a relationship in JC2, and got married at 23.
As for my kids, I'll have to ascertain their maturity level when they are in JC. Will deal with the issue as it comes. But I would find it odd if they are not keen on dating in university days. Lol

Many undergraduates are not keen on dating today. This is because they have a very busy lifestyle. They are spending their time and efforts pursuing grades and internships etc in the uni such that they have no time to commit to a relationship. In fact, the guys are feeling that they need to spend so much time and efforts to woo the girls. The uni course is having an average of 3-4 academic units but the guys said that maintaining a relationship is like a 20 academic units course. LOL!

I personally think 22 is a bit too late for girls. At 22, the girls are graduating from Uni or would have graduated and started working. It is best to find their other half in the uni and start to plan for their future. For those who find their other half in the uni, they normally get married at late 20s and can start family planning at 30.

If your DD is only average, SCGS is one of the worst school you can send them to.Many of the teachers are still learning their trades and are uninspiring. They can go to class and say that you can go home and read it yourself

(especially the Biology teacher) . The Chinese teachers are just as bad. At every Parent Meet the Teacher. they will come out with the mantra \"You should try to talk in Chinese, watch TV in Chinese, read more Chinese books, and you will improve\". Do you think any students or parents want to hear that? Where is the role of a teacher to inspire and to teach?
And don't you dare tell the form heads about their DD stress problems. It was suppose to be in confidence and being the trusty parent that I was , I thought they will know how to handle my DD situation. Instead, they went and tell my DD how grateful they were for my DD feedback. The teachers did not display any professional expertise and made my DD situation worse. Now my DD felt single out in class. The school scheduling of tests and external events were even worse. The most recent ones was the NAFA tests and my DD was expected to take an exam after that. Of course, if you are an above average students, you will not have any problems scoring that tests but imagine you are tired after the NAFA tests and you are expected to do an exam after that. I just want to let you parents know that SCGS have declined over the years in their professionalism.

Understand that YLL uses the lecture-tutorial system while LKC adopts a TBL (theme-based learning) approach. Which school the child chooses will depend largely on which teaching methodology suits him/her. Will leave it to son to decide which school he wants to join if he's fortunate to get both offers, as both medical schools are excellent schools.

I believe you meant Team-Based Learning.

I know YLL wanted to adopt Teams-based learning as they sent their faculty members for TBL training some 2-3 years ago. However, YLL has not implemented TBL todate. I spoke to one of YLL's deans at the recent NUS Open House and he told me it is not easy for YLL to convert to TBL.

Majority of the students in the business schools of our local uni are from JCs and do not have business background because business is not offered in the JCs. Generally, they are able to cope so there is nothing to worry.

NUS is the oldest business school in Singapore. Comparing the business programs between NUS and NTU, NUS business programs seem to be more general while NTU business programs seem to be more specialised. For example, NUS has a general finance specialisation but NTU has a general finance specialisation plus more specialised tracks in applied wealth management etc. NTU business programs also have niche areas such as actuarial science which NUS does not have.

UAS of 87.8 for last year is the median, not the mean.

For this year's PSLE, my P6 mummy friends were telling me for my school, there is this group who were expected to get 26X based on prelim results ended up with 24X or 25X only. They were shocked as the names of the 26X did not appear in the top performers list ( usually for above 260).


Conversely, there is this group who expected to only getting 225 to 235 ended up with 245 to 252.

Not sure if the same thing is happening in other schools as well this year? Anyone can share?

I am not sure if this is due to critical thinking questions. MOE is having more critical thinking questions in the PSLE exam especially for Maths and Science. This kind of questions may not be performed well by those who have been performing consistently in their academics . This kind of questions may also be performed well by those who have not been performing consistently in their academics.
