My DD AL8 foreigner got her 2nd choice: RVHS but the sms said Express not IP
I want to know if RVHS got Express?
On MOE website only mentioned IP as their programme and only 1 code for IP that we submitted but we got Express so weird -

RE: Raffles Girls' Primary
these reasons I feel :
* those ex-foreigner whom turned sporean are eyeing on RGPS, good top school and with relative good chance to get in without balloting. They have the resource to rent apartment within 1km of school. One of my foreigner neighbor was telling me about this. They have their own forum in their language, they are highly knowledgeable if not more Kiasu than the regular Sporean. If you are worrying about P1 registration now, their K2 kids are already having private table tennis lessons to prepare for DSA !!
* higher application at earlier phases, reducing P2C place. Expect worst next year. I myself is an old girl, but not living near RGPS, decided to try another school near by house, and almost went into ballot for the first time in history this year at P2B. If I am applying next year, I would expect the SG50 to be worst, I wont want to risk betting at the school near by house, I will just use my P2A2 ticket at RGPS to have a peace of mind. I believe is not just RGPS, those who have ticket to a good school at P2A, more will make use even if distance is an issue. We can already see that in most good schools this year having record low spaces in P2C.
* Plus this year online application, with no information available. Insecure to apply at later phase. A few friends I know applied phases 2B and before, but still hopeful for 2C near their house, all gave up and kept their earlier seats. Due to lack of information, is too risky. If next year application method is still same like this year, lack of information, I am sure most want to chop their seat as earlier as possible. -

this is from 2018 registration, Dragon year, is likely possible to hit more than 70 this year as well.
This is not Punggol or Sengkang. I highly doubt there are more than 76 SC < 1km. Most likely outcome is ballot between 1-2kmrichardtansingapore\" post_id=\"1989735\" time=\"1596696442\" user_id=\"179520:
I called the school. The staff shared that applications are still coming in, and that SC < 1km might have to ballot. Which means best for SCs (1-2 km) to apply elsewhere.

My DS is in GEP but he was not shortlisted for RI maths domain this year. There were no maths olympiad this year so for his P5 he got high distinction in RIPMWC but not selected for the 2nd round, silver NMOS, gold for mathlympic, silver for his maths masterclass by NUSH. His maths grade in school consistently about 98%. Guess it is harder for GEP these days although I also did not hope too much for RI dsa since imo his achievements are not enough anyway but since application is free no harm in trying.
I am just sharing for future refer. MY DS got RI interview and has almost exact similar profile less math masterclass, applied RI maths and only RI. On top, we put in prefect, member of school debate, and various weiqi competitions although these are not relevant to any domain in RI. All subjects above 85% if I remember correctly.
There are more invites given out for academic related domains. For sports, performing arts and leadership, not many are shortlisted. Perhaps, conducting e-audition for sports and performing arts is more challenging so the secondary schools are more selective this year. Otherwise it is really a waste of time and resources for both primary and secondary schools.2eclipse\" post_id=\"1987461\" time=\"1595562598\" user_id=\"185689:
Is it just my circle of friends that we noticed the number of interviews given out to applicants is less than previous years?
I remember in previous open house, RI P mentioned they look at the students holistically. No need to apply eg Math and Leaadership as the same time.
