As parents, we can only help our kid to analyze and discuss choices that are available. However, if they want to make their own decisions, we can support with our heart. Not to worry, do not be discouraged as generally people are quite accepting of students from other streams however, like what you said there are bounds to be some minority. But I think love and support goes a long way in a child’s education in life. My elder daughter used to be in express but she is quite close to some of her juniors from N.A. All the best!

RE: Express or Normal Academic
Thanks for the feedback chloecube.People staying around the area initially do not have postive impression about the school due to some black sheeps but recent years, people have also seen improvement in the students’ behaviour which shows that the schools are making great effort in trying to improve their image.
I also kind of agree with bluebelt. It depends on individual child and the child willingness to work hard and there are cases whereby some kids did excel in Springfield. -

Anybody out there has kids at Springfield?

RE: [Tampines] Primary Schools
Dear Okahill, i guess alot of people are disapointed with the balloting results. I am also one of the unlucky ones. In fact, i witness the first 20 draws up there, I witness two of my friends’ daughters’ name being balloted. This is really luck. So envy. to ensure fairness, i keep telling the one who is drawing to keep stiring the draw cares as i seen alot of them stick together. Anyway, don’t be discouraged. Life’s goes on. I probably try Tampines Primary School. Most important is we are there to support and guide our child when they are in primary one. GOOD LUCK!

RE: [Tampines] Primary Schools
This forum is really interesting and can get lots of good feedbacks especially on St. Hildas. Can ChiefKiasu advised whether i should try and ballot for St. Hildas since this is the only school that is within 1KM from my house. As for Poi Ching, I am within 2KM.

RE: [Tampines] Primary Schools
Hello, I am also one of the worried mother who is looking for schools in Tampines for my 6 year old daughter. Anyone out there knows about schools like East View Primary, Tampines Primary School, QiaoNan Primary school, etc. Would appreciate if anyone can advise? I am within 1Km of St. Hildlas Primary but I know the chances to go in there are very slim.
