amizade:I'm thinking, when the lease ends.... would they really let people go homeless?
I don't think they'll offer SERS to all, but they'll probably come up with a 10 year lease renewal scheme. Collect slightly more money, extend another 10 years, maybe that will shake all the old yet poor generation (death due to old age), paving way for the younger working class people to be forced to buy their expensive BTOs
I highly doubt they'll just kick all these fellas out. as mentioned, there are 7,000 of such flats expiring real soon. Imagine 7,000 X 4 homeless people on the streets

RE: O-Level English
piggydwarfs:
Hi Parent who hv kids under Ms Felicia, May I get some feedback? How is her teaching method?
hi there. You mean the Ms Felicia from Toa Payoh?
I have a son in JC1 who's with Ms Felicia for GP and a girl in Sec 1 express with Ms Felicia as well. My son and his friends from the tuition group all did quite well last year.
For her teaching method, she uses her own materials/syllabus which are quite interesting and broad based learning. She will fuse comprehension, editing, compo, etc in like themes for broad based learning so my children both like going to her class.
But actually I think what is really really innovative are two documents called \"useful vocab builder\" and \"useful corrections record\". If I'm not mistaken that's what she calls them.
just my 2 cents
Anyway, I think she got a website. Someone posted here before. called Useful Tutor something like that. You can check it out

Not sure what is the number of intake for this year? Think last year was 120.
Do you know the intake for YLL this year ? Last year was about 300, I think.
So did your children also shortlisted for both the medical schools?[/quote]yes yes! Heard from some Dean that there'll be a 10% increase in intake size this year. Also heard that they plan to increase the intake to 500 in 5 years. -
RE: O-Level English
My son just got his O-level results yesterday. He surprisingly got A1 for English. Although overall results were slightly disappointing, but English had always been his weakest.
Maybe it’s luck or maybe it’s his English tutor (Ms Felicia - I found her from this forum too) or maybe everything just clicked at the right time for him.
Just to give my 2 cents to O-level students or parents having their children always weak in English - FEAR NOT! I know English is damn hard to learn last minute but just WORK REALLY HARD and PRAY for the best. I truly never knew my son turned his English Prelim1 C grade to an A1 in just 4 months. So if my son can do it, so can yours too! -
RE: * Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) - College
hi there. I got a question - has anybody got a child that entered HCJC with an L1R5 of 6? Just checking the historical admission outliers.

RE: Networking Group - JCs General
hi guys. My son got an L1R5 raw of 8, with a bonus of 2 points. Is there really no chance for VJC or HCI? Putting either one in the JAE ranking would be a waste of time right?

RE: 16yo commit suicide after O levels result
OMG! My son felt so bad after getting his raw L1R5 of 8… honestly i felt he could have achieved more. but really,…it could’ve been worse… be thankful for life out there !!!

RE: O-Level Physics
seeking advice here. Do you think hiring a last minute tutor will help in my DS’s O-level? I know it’s a bit late, but results from prelim seems alarming
