Don't over-worry too much on this. It's not a direct comparison since you're using P5 SA1 results as a proxy and also you don't have the actual cohort mean/ SD.


So the good thing is that you're looking at this now and can potentially make some changes since there's still one year to go and hopefully the situation will become better/ clearer after SA2.

Without the actual mean and standard deviations to calculate the formula, it's all going to be a guess. A simple way to estimate would be to add up the 4 then multiply by 0.72 or 0.75.

Alternatively, you can guess the national average / standard deviation to plug into the formula to give you an estimate of the results based on PREVIOUS cohorts' data.

Just take note that this is all going to be guesswork but should give you a number +/- 10.
