Hi all, my son is also in P3 this year.

Just to share …yes, there are marks given on the English compo by the teacher, with marks indicated for content and language. For Chinese compo, I don’t remember I have seen marks given.

And another puzzling thing is the briefing only involve the children... For me, I have to \"squeeze\" whatever information my DD can remember so as to know more about the few CCAs...

haha .. at least you are able to \"squeeze\" from yr DD. My son was not well that day and did not attend school. I totally got no clue about it. Anyway, I have opted for sports class for him and will not be considering any other CCA for him 😂

Btw, are you opting for the swimming class? I will most probably opt out cos I am concerned with the ratio 1:10.

The briefing was on 25th October and the children need to hand in the forms by 2 November. Yes I agree that this briefing is crucial but puzzled why it has not been conducted any earlier.

I am puzzled too. I totally agree that this briefing should be conducted earlier (before the Niche CCA was offered) so that children and parents can make a decision.

      Callie Tan:
Mrs Seah has called just now saying I will be allowed to attend the dialogue session this evening. At the same time, she stressed that although my girl is selected but in actual fact, there will be only 16 girls be selected into the volleyball team and my girl might not be one of the 16... ??? So out of the 10 Primary 2 classes, a total of 300 students, the school only select 16 girls and 16 boys into the volleyball teams respectively? No wonder it's called the niche CCA...

Once again, after the earlier conversation I am even more confused.... at first said she's selected then now said she might not be selected... confusing...

Callie, I spoke to Mrs Bernadette Chen (HOD PE) and she did explain to me that for the 3 niche CCAs, they selected 16 boys and 16 girls for each CCA. This will mean that out of 300 students, about 96 students were selected. Do you have an option? Is it only VB? My son has an option of basketball or table tennis. I am getting puzzled how the selection process works too. I suppose attend the briefing tonight and hopefully can have a better idea.

      Hi Callie,

My son does not have a CCA now. I am abit puzzled, you mentioned that you did not have an official letter on the offer but how did you come to know that your daughter was selected in VB? The teacher called you?

Does anyone know if there will also be a class for wushu?

After reading all the posts, I began to understand more on the special PE programme. Thanx very much.

My son was given the letter only today. I was surprised to receive the letter which indicated that the briefing was tomorrow and the reply to attend was yesterday. Maybe my son was being offered because some have already indicated to opt out?

In any case, I will call up Mrs Seah to clarify tomorrow.

Thanks Callie, appreciate the info. I was about to call for an update too.

Anyone knows if Wushu can be taken as a CCA, if not chosen as school team?

    • RE: 2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

      Hi,

I have registered my daughter into Pei Chun Public and I am staying at Toa Payoh. I am an old gal of RGPS and can register her into RGPS under Phase 2A(2).

Can anyone advise if I stand a chance in RGPS? I am in a dilemma as I need to withdraw from Pei Chun in rorder to register for RGPS.

      Hi,

I’m an old gal of RGPS and am currently considering if I should register my gal under Phase 2A2.

My greatest concern is the distance. Can anyone share how remedial classes are conducted in RGPS? Do the P1s and P2s have to take remedial classes?
