I have a friend that is looking for school that caters to pre-schools. Preferable Saturday or Sunday class so she is able to join her child in the class. Thank you!

I find that it works for Chinese. Maybe pictorial more effective. U can also play matching cards, to train memory.
Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely try that 🙂

Thank you so much for your replies. Do you have other alternatives that you can suggest to me?

Child development in the early years is best done by regular interactions with a caring adult. For a young child, everything is \"new\", so just going through the normal day provides lots of good content. Talk to your child and engage him in daily activities - brushing teeth, cooking and eating, going shopping, visiting the park or playground, folding clothes, mopping the floor... Focus on developing communication, understanding, spoken vocabulary, physical skills, social skills etc. Read to your child a lot, preferably from physical books. There is no need to worry about \"learning to read\" till the child is at least 4 years old.

Personally, the idea of flashcards was so boring to me that I never bothered to use them as they were intended. Those that we received as gifts, I allowed my kids to just play with. One child learned to read before 4 yrs without being taught (not because of flashcards, but through being read to a lot), and the other was taught at 5 yrs using a variety of methods. In the end, the later reader has been the stronger student. Both are adults now.

I totally agree to that. Having quality with your child is the best teacher in his/her young age. And we really need to treasure those moments because kids grow so fast. I am happy and sad about that fact. Thank you so much for your reply.

Are flashcards really helpful to kids? Does it help enhance the memory of a child in the long run?

    • RE: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically

I think everything is online now a days. And its very frightening what you can see online. We as parent’s should always be on the look out on stuffs that our kids search or see. We should also be joining our kids in their online classes.

My sister’s daughter is like that also. I heard from my sister that they applied their daughter to different online classes and see which one will work for her. They found one that helps her remember stuffs faster and longer. She is in her 2nd week in that said online class. My sister said that even she has been learning a lot from said online class

    • RE: Do your kids play online game?

For me, I would allow my kid to play video game if I have a supervision of the games that he plays. There are a lot of games now a days that looks cutesy but as you play it, definitely, a content not for kids. You also have plan like you let them play for a couple of minutes or hours then have a scheduled session for interactive and educational games. I think there are online classes that also teaches parents on how you can still teach kids while having fun. :rahrah:

I feel the same. Communication is the key nowadays, especially with kids that are easily distracted by youtube and video games. I think as parent’s we should have at least 30minutes to 1hour playing interactive and educational games with them. I do need a suggestion on an online class that uses interactive and educational games that teaches kids? I do have a few games in mind but it is different when it comes from professionals.
