Just for sharing :
Found this https://www.childroad.com Read and Listen Chinese digital library quite useful
for my son who has no interest in reading Chinese books. I am hoping this Read and Listen Story will help him to build up his interest in Chinese. A struggling mum who doesn't know how to read Chinese.

Anna Ng:
Wah!! Her students in SV are so lucky. I guess a lot of parents will go after her for tuition after this award from MOE.Definitely this was not advertisement for tuition. This was a news from MOE after they gave award of \" 2010年全国模范华文教师”奖\". No wonder SV is getting hot.
Yup! long way to go ------- -

Hi Anna,Dear All:
I saw this from online newspaper. Just wanna to share with your.
南山小学 = South View Primary School
Seem like everybody doing well in SA1 except my son. I will have to work hard. Thanks for sharing
Wow!! All students A or A*. Is this chinese teacher advertising for tuition?
When my dd's was in K2 (PAP Kindergarten), her HYPY chinese tuition teacher (engaged by PAP Kindergarten) from china also claimed that some of the South View top students were taught by her.
Hi mvelle09,
I fully agree with you. It is still too early to gauge our primary school children now. We have to go one step at a time and most importantly is to build up their interets and foundation first.I hardly go thru' my dd's school work unless when it's near exams. But I do believe that reading is very good for them.I usually spend hours reading to them everyday except for weekend because it is our PLAYTIME!!
Anna, I still have the 2nd half of this year to relax. I will join you to be stressed out by K2 son when he goes P1 next year. BOYS!! :!: Both my boys can't even sit still and hold on to a book. Like to jump around like monkeys.
So stressful looking after them. -
RE: De La Salle

Here is my dd's result:
Maths - 81
Englsih - 41

Heard from P3,P4 parents, for MT - streaming starts after SA1 in P1. And for overall results - streaming starts in P3, 2 top classes. P1 classes will remain the same in P2.hello!
Need your expertise help on the following Q'stions
When do they have streaming at DLS? P1 0R P2
I heard KPS does it every year until p4.
Any idea on DLS ,hoW is it done and how many top classes they have
However, not sure what is the arrangement like for P1 this year. -

Hi baby2momma,mvelle09:
Hi Anna,
Understand your feeling as my dd didn't do well in MT and Shocked me as well. But nvm it is only thru the exams I got to understand her level & weakness. I will put in more efforts in building up her basic foundation for MT. Actually maths can practise, MT dun know how to practise leh?? No choice, just have to do it !!!!
Just to share, when my dd works on her maths worksheets or h/w. i normally leave it to her 100%. When she hits problem, she will approachs me then we will work together to make her understand the concepts. After she has understand the concept of that problem, I will create another 3-5 questions with the similiar concept to confirm her undestanding. I feel that they may not be able to think properly if we are there to distract them and you can't really gauge whether they truely understand the concepts if you are helping them. So far, it works quite well for me. :!: :!:
Hi mvelle09,
that was how i taught my ds too, but looking at his maths results....
sigh....i fainted. :!:
so, i told anna, if she needs someone to comfort, i'm the best person.
becoz i really cld not believe it when my ds told me his maths marks.
This was how i taught my girl too.
But she still got the question on the tens and ones wrong. I went thru this with her many times because I anticipated that this question will come out and during my revision with her she can tell me 1 tens 11ones equal 21 or 1 tens 20 ones equal 3 tens and many more with correct answers. But when I ask her 1 more than 19 equal how many tens. she told me she wrote the answer as 10 tens. I just burst into laughter and told she was so easily being tricked by the question. She laughed, felt a little bit shy and quickly told me the correct answer is 2 tens. And she also quickly told me that at least she did not her waste time doing colouring during her maths paper.I did not want to pressure her any more and told her that she had done well.
I guess there could be various reasons why she could not get this question right.
1) she might be feeling tired (she complained to her piano teacher she could'nt sleep well because of her younger brother keep disturbing her at night).
2) She might not be feeling well during her papers.
3) The duration of the papers might be too taxing for her.
4) Upset with her daddy for bringing her younger brother to watch Iron Man 2 without her because she had to study for her exams at home.
5) She might be feeling a bit nervous since this was her first exams
6) Or, she could have been bullied by her brother just before her exams.
