Am heading to korea for 2nd time this december but the last time was in Nov so am anticipating freezing ourselves there this time.

Was wondering if its a safe idea to get there to buy the kids boots instead of buying off taobao or qoo10 instead. Kids are 6 & 7 yrs old so is it easy to find their shoes? Am wondering if I will end up running ard seoul to hunt for their boots instead.

am staying at hongdae when we arrive. I assume normal sports shoes will last them for a while until we find new ones? Appreciate kind advice on where is the best place to find cheap ones.

Or try Ewhua Women University which is near to u. There are many shoes stalls.

U can try the shoe market in dongdaemun or the children's section in namdaemun market

Seoul was very nice but it was really cold. My first trip there and for a cold loving person the winds were killer chills! My kids wore 4 layers most days. Heattech, sweater, jacket AND down jacket. Had to make sure they were all bundled up. Gloves are a must cos tts the first to turn ice cold for me. The daiso heatpacks strangely only works well for my kids n i always feel mine was hot enough. The packs sold in korea were good though more ex. We stuck some on our clothes and could feel the heat.

For those gg soon, be prepared as temp is realy dipping!

Personally I think u should be able to get a decent jacket in Seoul. Prices varies depending on design & location. In namdaemun mkt designs may nt be so upmarket but prices reasonable. Dongdaemun will cost abit more but design is trendy. If still can't find any in this 2 mkts there's always international brand like uniqlo, H&M etc. There's also the underground malls which u should not miss as their clothes are pretty cheap too.[/quote] Hey mummychia, guess i shd do just that then! My trip date is drawinh near and my itinerary is not done yet!

Just a quick.question. am i mad if i attempt to buy my own winter jacket in seoul?

My 'jacket' is only those thick waterproof bomber jackets and i am gg in mid to end nov.

Have alredy gotten my kids down jackets but thot of buying my own there...

U can buy winter jacket over there, plenty of choices. The Dongdaemun Market areas have a few shopping mall, there's one that open till 4am. ,may need to do some bargaining.

Any idea if it will be cheaper also? Saw one normal down jacket at winterwear costing $80 after disc...i dun wanna get too expensive ones too...
