Anyone know first day wear PE attire or Uniform? Can they wear their black sport shoe or must wear black shoe shoe? Aiyo so excited with the opening, wondering how my girl cope with the new phrase.

Uniform for 1st day and preferably black school shoe. But u could try the black sport shoe n check wz the teacher whether is it allow, since u r allow to stay with yr child for the 1st day (lesson till recess). Don't worry abt yr girl, she will be so excited to meet her new classmates n most of all I think she will enjoy buying food on her own. Remember to prepare a small coin pouch with coins for her to purchase food. Have yr girl listen to the school song, I like it very much. It would be nice if she tells u \" hey mummy, it the 1st day of school n I know how to sing the school song. :rahrah: I know how u feel, I was like u 2 yrs ago.

Hi, may i know what is the black school shoe? I only have 1 black rubber shoes for my son šŸ™‚ Do I need to buy a black school shoe? Leather type for him? Which days will it be used?

Hi all, my dear son just started his first day of school today at Horizon and I can say that I am happy that I have chosen this school. Although a bit early to tell, my instinct says he will enjoy learning with his new classmates. šŸ™‚ It is playful and conducive. He didnt have the time to 'cry' anymore on his first day. He was thrilled to buy his own drinks at the cafeteria.

Is there a buddy system on first day? I can see the teacher introducing him to another kid older than him.
I was very excited to prepare him for P1. I had a late night going thru the checklist and ensure everything was in order and nothing was missing inside his bag. I thought Im gonna flip when he will be in no mood to get up early, eat breakfast and wait for his school bus. Eventually, he was very well-prepared for his P1 (I think! no tantrums and no meltdowns).

He belongs to Inventor class. Hope there's some parent out there whom i can meet in the future. šŸ™‚
Erm.... Red means ALOT of ppl registered.... :?

Oh sorry i misunderstood the past balloting history....it's my first few days to review for P1 registration for my first kid. At first, i thought i have no chance to register him at Rosyth, but later on i find out we can still OPT to ballot.

Do you think I still go for it? Anyway, all the schools that I like we will still fall under Phase 2C and need to ballot coz we are very far away now from other schools šŸ˜ž

Dont know what to do now :?:

Hi apolsp, have you decided what to do already?
Hi dorisp, not yet šŸ˜ž I am not sure whether to still take my chance at rosyth, what if we cant get in

ya... do some research here... n u will find the past balloting history... so u won't get any rude shock later...

kinda late to do anything else...
your 2nd choice could be others' 1st choice... and anything after Phase2C... is not much of a choice already.

      :celebrate:
yes, that's correct šŸ˜ž after phase 2C not much choice left but move on and find the school who will accept...

i have already seen Rosyth ballotting history. it's tagged as Red category meaning chance is very high...i hope and pray šŸ˜„

    • RE: All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

Hi, it's my first time to post question here šŸ™‚ Please help šŸ˜› I am quite anxious of P1 registration of my son which is due this year. He will be P1 by next year.

I just want to know the balloting of within 1KM of the school, what if my son was not selected during the Phase 2C? Can I still register him in my second option for school? What if it is full too?

Can you pls tell me the steps / tricks on how to go about this... My first option of school is, we definitely wait for the ballot Phase 2C due to the 1KM radius.... my next best school is Im afraid might be full if not selected by my first option.

      First option: Rosyth school
      Second Option: St Joseph Institution.

      Thank you.

    • RE: PCF/PAP Kindergartens

      Hi Charmaine,

I would have to wait for 3 months or more to finally assess if I can see improvements on my son. Although I am not drilling him yet to know things in advance as I believe that nursery should be the time for him to get motivated in learning, and learning in his own pace šŸ™‚

If I can see that progress, I might as well switch my K1 who is in half-day day care now and enroll him at PCF too šŸ™‚ So both of them can see each other! šŸ˜„

    • RE: PCF/PAP Kindergartens

Yesterday I was able to visit the PCF Spice at Serangoon North Avenue 1 for my son whose entering Nursery.

I was very impressed with the environment, it was so colorful with a lot of decorations on the walls and ceiling to entice the kids and motivate them šŸ™‚

It look so new , fresh and clean and I have observed their toilets and it was clean too. So far so good šŸ™‚

I may not have a high standards than others but over-all-- the materials, the surroundings and the entire school aura is very good. It's quite big actually.

When I spoke to the nursery teacher, she's very warm, patient and she discussed to me in details. I like her personality! I am asking her about situations wherein what if the child misbehaves how does she handle? What if they are fighting? How do they discipline kids when at school? What if the child throws tantrum? How do you handle kids who cannot cope with the lessons really well? Do you spend time teaching him more?

She was able to answer me in a nice way and though it was quite general i was able to pick up some pointers too on how to react when my kid misbehaves. šŸ˜›

I should say I just wanted to gauge how 'strict' they are in enforcing discipline to children and to those who have behavioural problems. I am sure that my questions have something to do with how I want my kids to be disciplined when they are in school. Seems like our conversation was fine with me, nothing to be alarmed about.

As for the worksheets, it looks the same with my K1. My K1 was a mixture of Montessori and the MOE too. Learning through play etc. Their worksheets are MOE Standards too. So I guess PCF is just as good as other schools around. So now, I want to transfer my K1 too šŸ˜›

That's all for now. I just like SPICE!
