Hi, can any sec3/4 parents (2013) enlighten me what's 3S1 - 3S4 classes specialize in? Maths & triple sciences? :scratchhead: Thanks alot! 😄

3S1-3S4 are the Science and Math Talent Programme classes. We call it CSE SMTP. Math and double/triple science is the focus in these classes, and in sec 3 SMTP students need to do a science/math project with other classmates. We can do pure lit in Secondary 4, so it is possible to do 3 humans and 3 sciences. It is a very popular special programme, and it is quite competitive.

      Looking at my ds's timetable:

      CF 9 periods
      ELL 7
      MA 6
      History 6
      LSS 5

😓 Chinese has the most number of periods. Surprised to see more History than Science too.

Do they learn Physics or Chemistry first? Ds does not know which textbook to bring tomorrow. Both books are thick and heavy!
There isn't a need to bring any of those textbooks! You would probably only need them in Secondary 3 and 4 but even then no one brings them to school, the teacher should provide notes I guess.

Newton’s first law states that a body at rest will remain at rest and a boy in constant uniform motion in a straight line will remain in a constant uniform motion in a straight unless a net force acts on the body. In this case, friction is the resistive force. Thus, if the box is stationary, even if there is a push, that means there is no net force acting on the body as f=ma due to friction.
