:congrats: to all the parents who were successful in getting into FMPS :celebrate:

My son got in as well :dancing: It was really a nerve-wrecking balloting session. I'm glad we only have to do it once.
School just called. Its 62 vying for 55 places. Sigh. Why don't they just pick the 7 unlucky parents and get it over with! 8P

Don't forget SG citizens are given 2 slips during the ballot. If they do that, chances of citizens being kicked out doubles as well.

How do you mean? 2 slips doubles your chances of getting picked, not getting elminated. Note, if the large majority are citizens, it makes very little difference.
Well, if they make it an elimination ballot as mngb123 has suggested, then chances of citizens being picked over the PRs are higher cos we have 2 slips, correct?

But since there are only 5 PRs fighting with the citizens in this case as Poohbear has kindly reported, difference is not very huge also lah.

However, living up to the namesake of a kiasu parent, every possible ever-imaginable chance counts! So I would prefer to stick to the standard ballot šŸ‘… heheh

Do also note that out of the 62, there are 2 pairs of twins using single ID. That means if either 1 gets it, the other will also get it. So the vacancies effectively reduce by 2 if the twins are picked

Erm... since the twins are under single ID, do they get 2 or 4 balloting slips?

Just called the school. As of 1:55 pm, there are 58 (within 1 km) vying for the 55 spaces. The ballot is ON! 😢

Now it is 65 (within 1km) vying for the 55 places after registration closed yesterday.

Balloting is on 13 Aug 9am.

Ya... there will be a mad rush tomorrow afternoon... just praying there may be some withdrawals so that all within 1km can get in šŸ™

Or no more new registrations for <1km tomorrow so that all 55 can get it without balloting šŸ™

For Henry Park, I heard that they did not accept PV for this year's intake, that's why there are lesser registrations for Phase 2B vacancies, so balance roll over to Phase 2C. Does anybody know if that is true?

      For all aiming-for-FMPS parents.

Called FMPS and was told that there are exactly 55 regns of less than 1km after regn closed today for the 55 vacancies. One more day of registration to go.... :nailbite:

All parents of more than 2km have already been informed to withdraw. I guess the 1-2km may hear something soon. šŸ˜ž
Heard there were 80 students registered as of closing today for the 55 places in FMPS of which 49 of them have to ballot for 24 places.

Err.. exact number is 49 applicants for 25 vacancies.
This is balloting for more than 2Km @ P2B @ FMPS.

There must have been an additional vacancy for phase 2b as last week i only saw 55 vacancy in total from MOE website but this week it showed 56 vacancy instead. So its like 50% chance for those who balloted.
Anyway, hope to see those of you who got in FMPS during the orientation.
I noticed that too.

Before today, there were 55 vacancies out of which 80 registered.

31 were allocated to those staying less than 1km and 1-2km.

Balance 24 vacancies to be ballot among the 49 staying more than 2km.

Hope this clarifies for those who might be confused with the figures.

This year's competition so keen for FF...I am getting worried for next year. I am doing PV this year and I even had this naive idea that there should not be a prob to get ito the sch given last years' stats but now I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Does anyone know how many parents are selected for PV at FF this year?

Take a peek at the PV attendance file when you clock in your hours? šŸ˜‰

Yah lor! I was told by the school there are 20 PVs this year. Since you are doing PV, maybe you can help to verify? šŸ˜‰

      Mummycal:
Not too sure if this is a sensitive question but does anyone know if parents can possibly donate to primary school of their choice and to secure a place?

I heard international schools allow that? But that's also because the expats have loads of $$$$.

For PV, I've heard of some schools who ask parents to provide for certain projects for the school, the parents bear the cost, someone else does the work, and the parents indirectly clock that 40hours. Since Phase 2B is not guaranteed place as well if balloting occurs, imagine the agony of parents who suay suay did not get a place. sigh....
