I’m a parent who has seen through my two kids undergone DSA.
My DD1 went through DSA with NUSH and RGS three years ago. She was offered CO by RGS and rejected by NUSH. She was in GEP, received gold award for MO, scored high 90s in Math and Science, good overall academic results throughout primary school obtaining high achiever awards in school. Her preferred choice was NUSH, but since she was rejected by NUSH, she accepted the CO for RGS.
My DD2 is taking PSLE and she went through DSA for NUSH and RGS this year. She is given CO by both schools. She is also from GEP, strong in Math and Science, qualified for Science Masterclass organised by MOE & NUSH, represented her school for the selection of IMSO(International Math & Science Olympiad), received Gold award for SPSO and Silver award for NMOS, good in her overall academic results throughout primary school obtaining high achiever awards in school. Her recent Prelim results is AL5.
Both my girls have pretty similar overall academic achievements. One possible reason I reckon why my DD2 clinched a CO from NUSH and not my DD1 is that DD2 has demonstrated greater aptitude and passion for Math and Science. DD2 always enjoys learning math and science and read beyond curriculum. She was over the moon when she received the CO from NUSH and has decided to accept the CO.
The reason I cited is in line with what NUSH has indicated during their open house and on their website —that they are looking for kids who are not only strong in Math and Science but should possess passion and excellent aptitude in the subjects, which they have mentioned that they have their way to suss out.
IMO, for those kids who have not been granted CO from NUSH even though you may have excellent results, it could possibly be because they are not the "student profile" that NUSH is looking for. Since NUSH’s Math and Science curriculum is highly accelerated (more than and beyond that of the top IP schools), they do need kids to have strong aptitude in the subjects in ensuring that the kids are able to keep up with the rigour of the curriculum.

Hi, my son is not part of all the things you mentioned. :-)
Thanks for the reply. I think your son’s school results for math and science must be really stellar!👍

Hi Ying2……. We did list the non school based achievements during DSA application and now NUSH may wanna see the proof …..
Congrats! May I know if your child is part of IMSO Team, in NUSH Masterclass for Math/Science, in GEP and has obtained Gold/Platinum in SMOPS or other Math Olympiads? -

May I know is it because you did not list the non-school base achievements during DSA application so now NUSH ask for it or you listed in application and now need to submit the proof?

Hi. My girl has received DSA offers from both RGS and NYGH. We are in a dilemma as to which one to choose, although it’s a happy problem. If anyone has similar experience in the past, or have any comments on the pros and cons of each school, it would be great if you can share. We have also heard that RGS curriculum is a lot more stressful. How true is this? Thanks.

So far, from this website, seems like only NUSH and Crescent Girls have Informed students of their DSA results. I heard most schools will start announcing on or after 18 Aug (ie after PSLE oral). Latest is 31 August.
My dd’s classmate has received CO from rgs, under academics domain. Was informed by the form teacher to the whole class.
Wow, didn't know school will received DSA results too.
No, the school didn’t receive the dsa results. The form teacher has requested to those taking part in dsa, to inform him of the result. The child would have told the form teacher. The form teacher will only tell the class those who receive CO/WL.
Which academic domain did she apply under? Is she GEP or mainstream? I'm surprise the notification so early.
Anyone else's DD received CO from Rgs? -

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
Hi. Anyone has an idea how many went for the interview yesterday? How many COs have been set aside for those who attended the interview?
