Hi all, my son is posted to Dunman Secondary. Today I got to hear from the uniform vendor that on normal days (except monday), the students can choose to wear the School Polo T to the school. As we have bought 3 pieces of the school shirt (SIZE 38), is anyone interested to buy 1 piece from us? Totally new and we can offer some discount off from the standard price of $10.00.

Given a choice, I would not allow my DD to come home that late too. Unfortunately, there will be occasions where you have to accept and deal with it.

DD was in a UG and they were hosting a campfire at school compound. They invited fellow UG members from other schools (as it is a practice to take turns to host campfires). The event officially ended at 10.30 pm but the host team had to stay on to clear up. It was past 11 pm when all was done. So DD had no choice but to call daddy to come and fetch her home. This happened only once a year when she was in Sec 3 and 4 as she has taken up a leadership position. Must 'lead by example' for the juniors right?

It is so sad that sleeping late is considered as leading by example by many students and even teachers. I find it such a joke in secondary school that teachers go on and on about time management but know full well that time management actually equates to sleeping less. That is the reality of the sec school life in SG. And the more elite the school is, the more you have to be \"efficient in time management\" aka \"sleeping a lot less\".It is only possible to manage time when you have time to manage.

When my daughter was in her primary school, I chose to give her those traditional handphone just for urgency. When she move on to Secondary, we have no choice but to give her a smart phone as they commonly used whatapps for projects and for communication/liaising matters such as CCA. With smart phone, she also spend considerable time on reading from Wattpad, goggle search and youtube. And still has to juggle with her studies, homeworks and projects. How to have 9 hours of sleep?

My dd is currently in Yr 2 IP program. She will have to do subjects combination for Yr3 and 4.
2 Sciences + 2 Humanities are the recommended. But she suppose to go straight to VJC and VJC only offer Science and Art faculty. Unlike Science, there isn’t any per-requisites for art faculty as briefed.

Can I therefore assume that if she is able to manage all her Chemistry, Bio and Physics, it will be good for her to choose triple sciences so that she can decide later which two to take in VJC? Or is it better to go for the recommended 2 Sci + 2 Hum?

Also is it true that nowadays JCs do not offer triple science anymore?
