Hi,

Time flies and left with 8 more days the 1st written exam will be started.

BTW, this coming Thursuday will be the last supplmentary class for DD.

JiaYou!!! :rahrah:

Hi Brenda,
Yeah, 8 more days to go and let sprint towards the finishing line! It's over soon!

Cheers,
Leanne

Hi Brenda & Leanne,
Yes, only 8 more days till the start of PSLE....

DD's counting down everyday. Can't wait till it's all over. :rahrah:

DD's sch declared yesterday that all P6 will be given 3 days off after PSLE and Children's Day celebration to reward them for all their efforts & hard work. :boogie:
Hi Tinkerbelle

May I know what is your DD's school? After I saw your posting, I wrote to my Ds' principal that some schools are declaring off days and she asked me for more info so that she can do the same too. If it's too inconvenient to post here, perhaps you can PM me. Thanks

quote: …Now they require you to take GAT at all the schools…

That’s one revenue-generating machine! I wrote earlier that in 2008 I was called up two days before RI GAT asking my ds1 not to go down to take the GAT as he had already taken at HCI. But then, they never refunded me and the $50 paid had gone to…?

I’m sure there will be some (or many?) parents who will protest about it and the most likely outcome would be that the school would take the first GAT test result.

Let Me Quick-ly Put it Down and :siam:
7) NYGH, RGS - ALL 60Q for Both GAT test Paper is the SAME!

So which school did you gal took her GAT first? The other one she will be able to \"do\" very fast, and have more time to think of the difficult one she could not work on earlier, therefore benefited. 恭喜恭喜

Last time heard RI and HCI used to take the same GAT from civil service college, so if the kid apply both the other one automatically know (wonder how they knew) and email to the kid that they will take it from the other school. But this year, am hearing so many duplication.

Ha Ha .... Reverse -la!
End Up She Leave 5Q undone in the 2nd Attempt ....
But Nvrmind ....
My This Gal .... Even Do B4 also like Do Fresh Again ....
So Not Much Difference ....

Who Knows her 1st Attempt May have Higher Score than the 2nd One?
(She Say 1st Attempt, She Still Got Time Extra ....)

Just Wait for Notification for Later Stage -la!
:celebrate: :celebrate:
But isn't that because one got 60 mins to do while the other is only 20 mins. Unless you are telling me that she still got time to check for the 20 min test while she left 5 Q undone for the 60 min one.

Went through the letters of DS1 (yr 2008) just for reference:

ACS(I) CO was dated 31 July
RI rejection letter was dated 13 Aug
HCI CO was dated 18 Aug

All before Psle Oral...after which could see he was more relaxed and not so stressed and was watching the Olympics everyday! And his results showed - below expectations! Told DS2 that if he got a CO, he should and MUST still work hard. 🙂

All the best ! I bet your DS2 will get CO from RI. !

last year was one who got CO from RI even when he applied for DSA at the last minute and of course he held his personal solo exhibition at Art House, named as UOB young artist… etc and he did well for the PSLE too…
Hi verykiasu2010

Thanks. I told DS2 not to be too disappointed if he didn’t get any offer at all, even ACS(I) as he told me he found the English section of the HAST tough.

Your DS1 didn't get CO from RI but was he in waitlist?
Hi xyz_xyz

No, he did not. If he had, it would have been a real headache. 🙂

The "real" confirmation would be after PSLE because you still need to pass the minimum requirement of qualifying for express stream. If I recall, the form will indicate all the DSA CO and waitlist your child received and you are to choose which CO or waitlist is first choice or second choice.

Well, affiliated primary school and his friends were all going there. He was the only one with a CO from HCI. His other friend was on waitlist, who got in after PSLE (his friend is now the only one in HCI). I had wanted him to go to HCI then, as the IB programme was still very new and that a lot of RI and HCI students studied in the Ivy League (their selling proposition), haha.
