I buy those which are bio-degradable. I chose one which has a nice container design (eg. Method) and after buy which ever eco-friendly brands for refills which happen to be on sale.

Which are some of the eco-friendly brands? Are they much more expensive than the regular brands?

I was looking around and these are two eco-friendly ones:
- Ecover
- Earth's Choice

I have not tried them yet though.
