MyPillow:The transit time in DOH was managable for us on our recent trip to London, though I cannot remember how long that was.I noticed the transfer time from doha to eg London is about 1.5hr only .. is it manageable - how many customs to clear?
since the doha & london leg is considered Intl route too (just curious)

Hmm ... I can't remember, but the last time I travelled EK to LHR, it was A380 throughout but then again, it was a few years back.
For EK, only 2 out of 4 flights from SIN to DXB is operated by a A380 (which is good).
However, the remaining 2 flights are operated by a B777 - also a 10-abreast config for EY class but absolutely horrible because of the narrow seat width (17\") and older innovation.floppy:
I totally agree with the parts in bold! :rahrah:At least QR product (A350) is consistent across it's 3 flights to DOH.
Also, the natural cabin pressure, humidity and low noise level of the A350 is marginally better than the A380 (and way more superior that the B777) and it makes for a more comfortable ride. -

thks for all the info on qatar airways - i used to think onl;y Emirates can make it (& the price is SQ comparable) so now I can consider qatar. But if one have chance to book early, sq, finair, luthansa, swiss air offer reasonable rate too
Emirates uses A380 which is more comfortable than Qatar's A350 and I don't like the 3-3-3 configuration. Prefer 3-4-3 arrangement. -

thank you auntiexxx i m looking forward to this trip esp the flight with window seat
window seat is good since you are travelling with family, otherwise, going to the toilet is a problem.
You can view the sights on your monitor screen taken by the cameras as you taxi and take off. -

Hi i have a query on water airways. I booked my flight with qatar for london trip and tehre is a stopover at doha. Do i need to collect my luggages at doha do immigration clearance and re-check in baggage to take the connect flight which is also qatar. I am travelling with an elderly mum and kids, hub and a toddler so for a night 8.15pm flight i was wondering if need to go through this hassle. or teh baggage is auto transffered to next flight. Appreciate your advice first time taking qatar and also a connecting flight co usually i go for direct sq so no idea. thank you so much.
No, the transfer at Doha is hassle free ... meaning your luggage automatically get loaded onto your London flight. And no, you do not need to clear immigration at Doha. You are merely passing through Doha, so there is no need for immigration clearance.
You will be given the boarding passes for both legs, SIN-DOH, DOH-LHR, when you check in at Changi.
Trust me, you will enjoy the flights.
Hope that helps. -
RE: Qatar Airways
I flew QR twice this year and am very satisfied with everything, from planes to seats, to food to service but a recent delay in London further convinced me that QR is worth recommending to others.
Our flight out of London was delayed by about 3 hours due to a medical emergency prior to arriving in London, thereby causing us to miss the connecting flight back from Doha to Singapore…
Upon arrival at Doha airport, we were received by QR staff, holding placards for the passengers from various countries who have missed their connecting flights. For us, the next available back to Singapore was 12 hours away.
The QR staff provided us with new boarding passes and hotel and meal vouchers. We were then told to clear immigration and boarded a Hotel bus that took us to the Hotel a short distance away.
We checked in and had a good rest at the Hotel. Buffet lunch was provided and we were driven back to the Airport about 2 hours before our flight back to Singapore.
Hope that helps in your decision in choosing QR flights. -

RE: SkyScanner Website
Has anyone booked air tickets from SkyScanner before? First time using, so need some advice.
1) Are the agents listed there reliable?
2) What must I look out for to avoid being scammed/cheated?
3) For those airlines that allow complimentary booking of seats, are we allowed to do so when we book through SkyScanner?
4) Can we use the booking reference to check on the Airline's website to confirm that our flights have really been booked?
5) Are there any risks booking through SkyScanner?
Thanks in advance. :thankyou: -
