Wonder if itβs possible for a K2 child to sign up for creative writing? Is it too early for a K2 to sign up for creative writing?

Yes, 3 years old is suitable to go for phonics classes. My DD went to phonics class when she is 3years old. There are number of enrichment centres like British council, I Can Read, LCentral etc..wan2bdad:
Are my 3-year old son suitable to take phonics class? We have trained him to read by memorising the words.. I think this is the way we are being trained in our school days...so is Phonics classes useful?
definitely, i think now is the chance to explore a new way of learning. there are enrichment centres in Singapore that provide good phonic class. -

Anyone can comment further about British Council courses?
My daughter once are the student at BC, She had been in BC for 4months but i don't really see any improvement on my daughter. Now my daughter is studying at LCentral Novena for 5 months and i can see the improvement. So i dont really recommend BC. -

I appreciate that you are excited about Phonics Read, and want to get fast feedback, but one post in the right forum would have done the trick. I have removed the other postings you made in the other forums.
Phonics Read appear to go by 2 names in Singapore:
http://www.phonicsread.com/index.htm
and http://www.phonicsread.com/index.htm (in collaboration with i3 Singapore Post)
These 2 appear to be operated by the same group of people. They claim that children can learn up to 500 words in 6 lessons (1.5 months). They also appear to have a regional presence in KL and even Yangon.
Their services appear to be quite similar to the more established http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/enrichment/total-literacy-international-pte-ltd programme.
Personally speaking, given a choice, I would be more comfortable going with the I Can Read programme.
My girl is currently at LCentral Novena on Phonics class.
So far my daughter has improve her pronunciation over there.
I think not only I Can Read is good, but LCentral Novena is good too. -

Is Lorna Whiston the only place with native teachers? I'm keen to help my son improve on writing but I also want him to continue learning English the proper way, not just good enough for good grades but to be really good at the language. I've read some model essays locally that are filled with 'chim' vocab and sentences but as a whole they are so boring and lacking in style.
Nope. LCentral Novena is one of the Place with native teacher too.
My daughter went to LCentral Novena for Foundation base for 3months and her pronunciation is getting better than before.
For my own opinion ii would recommended you to enroll your child to LCentral Novena if your child age is around 3- 12years. They will actually give your child a test to see which level they're suitable in.
My girl was being tasted to start from the lowest on Foundation base first. But now she have been upgrade to Launchpad.
You can enroll you child at LCentral Novena. -

Hi my3 darlings,
Hi, I think it is a standard process for this range of age as wen I signed up my son in Apr'11, he started in Foundation too even though he knows phonics and all the pictures words. But he only attended foundation for 1 term and was promoted to Liftoff in July. My centre explained to me is that to let the kids adjust to the environment and teacher as during Foundation, they will have words and sound interactive games so the children will enjoy. But once they promoted to Kiftoff, focused will be on spelling and passage reading.my3darlings:
Hi all,
I am new here.
Brought my 4.5 yrs old boy for an assessment at Lcentral this afternoon. Was pretty upset that they recommended him to start from foundation. He can describe and name all the pictures that were shown to him and write his name correctly. Howecer, he dunno phonics.
Any of you parents can advise if I-creativer Learners or Lcentral which is better?
You may want to check with the centre of your interest if they have the same system. Mine is at Tampines CPF building.
Hope the above info is useful to you
Cheers
May I know who is the teacher that is teaching your kid?? Is he or she good? My kids are with teacher Laura now, she is good but however due to timing, we are thinking of changing them but teacher laura wont be able teach them.
Hi, my daughter was studying at LCentral Novena. She have been study there for about 3months.She use to have pronunciation problems but after she has took up Foundation & Launchpad courses at LCentral her pronunciation is getting better than before. My daughter use to study at BC previously but there is no improvement, so ii transfer her to LCentral Novena. -

LC is definitely more academic than BC.baby's Mummy:

Which level is yr daughter in? My K2 girl is assessed n can start at PFS. is this the normal stage for a k2?
My daughter is 5years old. She is currently taking LaunchPad. I think PFS is their preparation for school. To prepare K2 student to get into P1. But in detail i am not very sure.
They have detailed information in their facebook page. Maybe you can have a look there to get more information.
