I’m not surprised if you can’t get Polish zloty in Sgp. Lack of demand, I reckon.
Can anyone advise where to change Polish zloty in Singapore? thanks!
We were not successful in getting any forint in Sgp for our trip to Hungary. We use Euro to exchange for forint upon arrival in Budapest. I was advised to change just enough for small purchases (eg. subway tickets) as the currency is useless once I step out of the country, and converting the balance to euro or US$ is unwise. Euro is accepted in most Budapest establishments, but any change will be given in forint. We used our credit card for restaurant meals and bigger purchases. At the end of our visit, I used up my balance forint in MacDonalds.
Didn’t quite answer your question. Just sharing what we did when faced with a similar issue -

I heard from my DD yes, there are some JCs only give the promo results in nov.
Is this the so-called ‘re-exam’? My dd’s JC stopped this practice starting with the 2019 JC1 cohortbebebub\" post_id=\"1941300\" time=\"1571122939\" user_id=\"23820:
Another exploratory question as my JC1 said that they will only get back the result after oral presentation so as not to affect mood. Wondering what happens to students if they don't meet promo criteria? Can they still be advanced?
My dd had classmates who were given another chance to sit for exams when JC2 reopens.
these will be the JCs that have no re-exam in JC1, I guess.
for my DD Jc, they have supplementary papers if you failed as overall subject grade.
My dd has gotten all her promos results. She understands from her senior that should one fails to be promoted to J2, PW will still go on this year and be awarded PW A levels cert next year. The student need not do PW in the 2nd attempt of JC1.
Pls note this info is not verified. -

RE: Wang Learning Centre 汪老師 - Discussion
My kid was with WLC Hougang for 3 terms. The teacher for T1 & 2 MIA often. In her absence, another teacher or sometimes, the lady who tends to the reception duties will take over. A new teacher was assigned in T3, but I’ve aldy decided to withdraw.
I find WLC materials good. I can’t comment on the effectiveness of the teacher in delivering those material. I was disappointed to find out that 录像 was not used in every oral practice. Most of the time a picture was used instead. Most oral practices are done as a class. I feel that the quieter or weaker ones may be overlooked. For 看图作文,the student don’t bring home the picture. Only bring home the marked 作文. Paper 2 practices are pretty comprehensive. After 3 terms at WLC, my kid can write a lot more chinese words at one go without complaining of 手酸. The amount of homework is quite substantial.
Overall, I think WLC is good if someone at home diligently goes through all the materials with the kid after each lesson - oral practice, learn all 听写, 作文改正. For the 3h class, teacher don’t hv time to cover everything thoroughly. Also, 3h can be mentally draining for some kids. I was toying between withdrawing totally or switching her to the 2h class. -

For my last trip, I use StarHub Happy roam while dh had the Changi Recommends wifi router to share with dd. This enables me to wonder off from the group when I want some time to see stuff that they were not interested in
What SIM card do you recommend for a holiday in Japan?
Both works well. I prefer the StarHub happy roam cos 1 item less to carry and 1 item less to charge  -

About 5-6 hrs. I took a taxi from my hotel to Kiyomizu mid-hills at around 9+am. Had lunch and 2 tea breaks. By the time I reached Kodaiji & Nene street (end of my trail 1) it was mid-afternoon. Frankly, the Kiyomizudera/Higashiyama South-eastern district can be covered in 2-3 hours if you drop some alleys and breaks. We are shopaholics so we took quite long to browse in each shop.
Yes, Tofukuji is pretty close to Fushimi. But I didn't include Tofukuji in my itinerary as I was in Kyoto in mid-Dec. 50% of the maple leaves had fallen in Week 3-4 of Dec. Maybe you'll have better luck in Week 1 Dec.

Surprisingly, we enjoyed the minimalist Nijo Castle as we are fans of samurais and interested to learn about the last shogunate. Nijo was the residence of Tokugawa Ieayasu, as well as the historical site where the young emperor Meiji issued the edict / charter oath to end the Tokugawa shogunate and to return power to the emperor. Nijo's main palace could be done in an hour (by listening to audio guide in full). Unlike Osaka Castle which has a lot of exhibits, a moat cruise and an attic, Nijo Castle is rather empty. But it has something quite intriguing - the nightingale timber floors, and lacquered screens

How many hours did you spend to complete trail 1?
I’m planning to start my day early (ard 7ish) at Fushimi Inari Shrine, followed by a plan that is similar to your trail 1. Do you think I can fit in a quick visit to Tofuku-ji Temple after Fushimi Inari? I’ll be there early Dec and hope to catch some autumn foliage. Not travelling with kids.
I have another day set aside for Arashiyama + Nishiki + Pontocho + Gion area. Is Nijo Castle worth going? TIA -
If you want to have a future daughter-in-law from Cedar Girls Sec, by all means put your son in Victoria as he will be classmates with Cedar Girls in Year 5 and 6 for IP programme.
I know of close family friends whose sons have gone to Victoria and it is a classic boys school. A good one. Nothing less.
I have always thought marriage should be from the heart, and not of convenience. Then again, I suppose you are right. Gotta meet each other first. Talk later!
