You will receive a letter from MOM and the instructions to renew the permit online is indicated there.

If I remember correctly, it also states the minimum validity period required for the passport. The Myanmar embassy is located at Nassim Road in case you need to renew it. 1 day affair. The new passport will be ready around late evening. Think the appointment can be made online. Not sure if they entertain walk - in.

You will need to renew her insurance. This is a pre - requisite before your online application for renewal.

I did not do it myself as I was too busy but the above are the steps based on my agent's status updates during my recent renewal. Took about 2 weeks.

Agencies that specialise in recruitment of Myanmar maids have Burmese staffs that can even do home visits to counsel & train your maid. Depending on your agreement with the agency, they may do it FOC or charge you a nominal sum.
You should get your agent to help.

My heartfelt sympathy to the families of all the passengers of MH370.

Unimaginable pain and yet still have to deal with daily living issues, especially hard for those who lost a sole breadwinner.

I think the main issue here will be breach of trust.


Firstly the going out of the house at midnight without informing you, then giving food from the house to a stranger (in this case even though she claimed that person is her cousin but nevertheless still a stranger to you), and then the denial when first questioned.

Ask yourself can you trust her any more, and whether you want to employ her further also depend on her job scope. If she is entrusted with care of young kids, then you have to think carefully. If you want to continue with her contract, then by all means make full use of your security camera as a deterrent. Let her know that you have installed many security cameras covering all angles of your house, so she will know of their existences and whether she want to cross that line again.
