Hi all, I have a question regarding PHS as I’m a freshman planning on joining this school. How are the students like in the normal academic stream? Is it full of rowdy and mischievous students? I can manage a few maggots here and there, but too many would definitely affect my learning. It is my top priority to get into the Express stream and I need as minimal distractions as possible. The deadline to decide what school I’ll be enrolled is nearing, so replies by tomorrow would be greatly appreciated! :thankyou:

      Hi beepboop,

Like what some parents mentioned in some of the earlier posts of this topic, there are always a handful of mischievous kids in all streams of all schools including PHS. Traditionally, PHS places great emphasis on discipline. Moreover, it is a Mission school and has a pastor stationed in the school to befriend and counsel problematic students. Most parents of PHS students had feedback that PHS provides a good nurturing environment and most of its teachers are caring. I am sure the school and teachers would definitely not allow students’ learning to be affected especially for a reputable Mission school like PHS.

I would like to wish you all the best for your secondary school life.

Thank you so much for the helpful information and kind words, Snoopy81! 😄

    • RE: CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary

Hi all, I have a few questions regarding CHIJTP as I’m a freshman planning on joining this school. Firstly, How are the students like in the Normal Academic stream? Is it full of bullies and misbehaving students? I’ve also read that since they have a primary school affiliated to it, many of the girls from the primary school are already close to each other and have their own friend groups. I’m afraid that as a new student ( who also has horrible social skills :slapshead: ) would have even more trouble blending in and making friends. Secondly, how is the Secondary 5 life? Just in case I don’t manage to make it into the Express stream, I hope that it will maintain it’s (allegedly) nice environment. Hope to get some replies soon! :thankyou:
