Thanks for sharing. But do he appeal through some talent or CCA. His T-score 252 without any merit from HCL ? My DS got 253 and is still under waiting list ?????!

no reply from rvhs means on the wl?

Sad to hear from some of them their number in the waiting list for RVH is about 40 to 61. But why they (RVH) still keep us waiting if the number is so unrealistic??? :x do they know how stressful is the wait. 天下父母心.[/quote]Cheer up, Popcornmum 😎 . I know how you feel now.

Sometimes it is good to prepare for the worst and make plans around it. My DD's appeal outcome is not known yet - but I ve prepared myself and her mentally that she will go to her posted sch. Frankly the attitude displayed by the sch we appealed to sort of turn me off. There were different answers given on the outcome dates. Despite that vast majority of the few hundreds appeals will end up unsuccessful, the sch has not announced the results. No mention of the waiting list even. We are in complete darkness...

塞翁失马, 焉知非福 - your child may end up in a sch that is more suitable for him. So don't stress yourself out...

I feel that all schools should process all appeals and inform outcome by 31 Dec if not by latest 3 Jan 11. Definitely not into school reopening!

Hats off to schools which are upfront and state the deadline - definite and transparent. This is what some schools which do not want to commit deadline should learn from.

Of course I understand that there may be many forms to process, but who in Singapore has not work overtime to clear workloads or to meet deadline? Imagine the anxiety of a 12 year old reporting to a school on the first day without knowing whether this is the sch he/she will stay... pls spare our kids from these... appealing to a school is stressful enough but pls at least let the kids know the outcome (positive or negative) before they go to a new evironment.

I agree. But I suspect sometimes it has to do with kids and parents changing their minds at the last minute therefore creating a vacancy in the school. Therefore the school has to call the next person on the waitlist later than desired. But if you were the kid/parent receiving that call that your appeal was successful, wouldn't you be thrilled?

Yes, understand there are factors beyond sch's control. But I think the school should commit to a definite date (instead of after 31 Dec and into first week of Jan - quote from a school I called). All dusts should settle by the deadline and any changes, should be exceptions. This at least prepare the parents and kids for the new sch term - and any good news after that is really bonus.

    • RE: PSLE 2010 Results Report Here

      Hi all

Interesting forum with lots of useful info and advice - great for parents like me who went thru PSLE first time with kid!

My DD scored 234 + 2 HCL. Within the vicinity of north east, my selection for her is as follows:

      Choice 1 : Nan Chiau
      Choice 2 : Zhong Hua
      Choice 3 : Presbyterian High
Choice 4 : Chung Cheng Yishun
Choice 5 : CHIJ St Joseph
      Choice 6 : Mayflower

      Would appreciate advice:

      1. Between Nan Chiau and Zhong Hua, which is better as a first choice? I feel that NC has a brighter prospect given that it is going to be a SAP school soon and the O level results is better. But ZH has a higher COP of 236 compared to NC of 231 so would the cohort be stronger academically?

      2. By placing ZH as 2nd choice despite the higher point, would it be wasting a critical choice?

      3. How important is the secondary sch affiliation to JC? PH, CCY and CHIJ St Joseph are all affiliated to a JC. Should I give up ZH totally and \"upgrade\" PH or CCY to 2nd choice?

      Thanks in advance!
