      Thanks Benorito for sharing.

      Do your kids spend a lot of time in school - what is a typical week like? How is the culture and the parent support group? The KSP forum page on SJI is not very active. Are the teachers supportive and encouraging?
      Very very caring teachers who keep in touch with parents on the sons' progress.
      Their pastoral program is very very good. I find it to be a very holistic school that doesn't just concentrate on academics.

      I find their boys very much all-rounders and are certainly more personable than the school boys from Bishan Hill :siam:

      Fantastic PSG too.

      Thanks, emoh for the info. I did not know that. May I ask if your DS is in SJI? If so, how do you find the school?
      My 3 DSs are/were in SJI. It's a fine school or I won't put them there one after another.

      What would you like to know about it ??

    • RE: Where to get Nonya kebaya for Racial Harmony Day?

      Thank you for the tip on where we can find the kebaya for little girls, mom-of-2. It looks very lovely plus I like the fact the sarong is actually hidden pants disguised as an elegant sarong and it's short sleeved. Perfect for active little girls in our hot weather šŸ˜‚

      I know someone who pulled out both kids on the first day of the kindergarten despite having paid up first term fees for both.

      iFruit:

      You need to know that product of two numbers = HCF x LCM of those two numbers

      280 * y = 6160 * 40

      y = (6160 * 40)/280 = 880
      Thank you !!

      Hi,

      Can you kindly help with this question :
      Given that 280 and a number y have a LCM of 6160 and a HCF of 40, find the number y.

      Thanks in advance!

      Dear maths guru

      Please help me on the following maths:

      2) At 9am John was cycling from Point A to Point B. At the same time, Mary was cycling from point B to point A using the same route as John. Cycliing at a speed of 4km/h faster than Mary, they would pass each other 300 meter away from the mid point.

      a) What time did they pass each other?

      a) Difference in distance travelled by John and Mary = 4km/h x T
      T = 0.3km x 2/(4km/hr) = 3/20 hrs = 9 mins
      Time they passed each other => 9.09am

      Dharma,

      Can you tell me why you must multiply the 0.3 km by 2 ?

      Thanks

    • RE: Tutor MathsGuru: Ask me for your burning Maths questions!

      This is from Red Swastika Prelim 2010 Q 8:

      Raju and Gywneth shared some sweets. If Raju gave 1/2 of his share to Gywneth, Gywneth will have 8 more sweets from Raju. If Raju gave 1/4 of his share to Gywneth, Gywneth would have 2 more sweets than Raju. How many sweets did Raju have at first ?

      The given answer was 12. Is this correct ?
