    • RE: 4 SG50 Actual Day NDP Tickets for the Family

Title: What SG50 means to me

I wasn’t born before Singapore gained it’s independence. I wasn’t there during most of the hard times. If so, I was too young to understand anything.
Still, what I see now is much different from the History textbooks. Singapore, despite being a small country surrounded by giants, managed to get into it’s feet and rise up. For me, the Singapore that I have always lived in is a safe, fortunate environment filled with the people who I love the most. But I feel that the people who built up this nation from nothing into everything I have right now are the most important.

So, for me, SG50 is a means to celebrate the achievements of this team of people, especially the Late Mr Lee. It is a way to appreciate the way they built the foundation of Singapore, along with how much they sacrificed for my home.

    • RE: GEP 2014 - Screening & Selection

Hi!:) I’m a GEPER from RGPS. I think that it’s best if you send your child to the GEP screening test even if you don’t think that they will get in. Don’t pressure them to get in, just make them keep on studying at a normal pace. Even if they don’t get in, it will be a good experience for them to get to know the GEP questions. Of they do get into the GEP, there will be a time period for you to decide if you want to go or not.

As for the GEP books to prepare them, it’s best not to buy too many. For the General Knowledge questions, it all depends on your child. You can only give them sample questions. However, of your daughter goes to RGPS, I have to warn you that there are some mainstreamers who do not like GEPERS very much so they have to be prepared.

      Have a good day!:)

    • RE: Raffles Girls' Primary GEP

Err hey:) I’m a GEPer from RGPS. It’s pretty normal for the Social Studies teachers to give you early deadlines. Like this year for my portfolio, our draft one was in January. It is natural for a teacher to be angry if they don’t hand in on time ( although writing a parents note is also slightly ridiculous).
