    • RE: Migration to which country?

I lived in the United States and Japan - and enjoyed those years I spent overseas. I am very happy to now live in Singapore.

    • RE: Exam Coming. Who is more stressed?

When my kids were in primary school, I emphasized the importance of doing homework. Most of the time, they scored full or close to full marks for homework, projects and assignments. This reduced our stress during the CAs and SAs. If I had to do it all over again, Iโ€™d still emphasize the importance of doing well for homework.

    • RE: Focus on a love for learning, not academic results: MOE

I have friends whose children attended the more average schools. The teachers were no less caring than those who worked at the "brand name" schools, from the conversations I had with these friends.

    • RE: Poll: What type of parent are you?

I was stricter with my children when they were younger. When they started primary school, I gave them more room to experiment, to fail and to celebrate. They have done generally quite well in school and have gone on to graduate from good universities. I am ok with them failing - though of course I'd much rather they do well :)))

    • RE: Good old memories

My kids showed me an e-album of their favorite family holiday photos. Made me so happy knowing that they valued and enjoyed all those moments we spent locally and overseas.

    • RE: Kaplan or unisim

My friendsโ€™ kids chose SIM. Mine went to local (govt funded) universities for their first degrees, then to the UK for their second degrees.

    • RE: Worst and best carpark

I drive to Tanglin Mall rather often because it's near where we live. I still have problems with the ramps going up. Equally narrow and steep going down, but it's when I drive up that I feel ๐Ÿ˜‰ it gets exciting.
