Hi Jon
Thank you for sharing this info with us. I’m staying in clementi and also looking for a swimming coach for my girl who is going to P4 next Jan. Your recommendation comes in handy.

RE: All About Competitive Swimming
If competitive swimming is really the child’s interest, would you parents consider ex rolling in Singapore Sports School at Woodland? No distraction!

RE: All About Competitive Swimming
Thanks for giving me some feedback on character building. Can I also check with parents what are the main reason for giving up competitive swimming. Is it more of a child or parent decision. Do you feel wasted if after all the effort and time that had put in, parent or child just give up. Sorry for being so negative even before starting the sports, but I just want to have some realistic feedback. It is indeed a parent and child effort. Besides, I’m a working mom too.

RE: All About Competitive Swimming
Dear parents/coaches
My girl, 9 year old this year, likes swimming and has been taking swimming lessons since K1. We are considering of converting her to competitive swimming next year since she will complete her "survivor 3" very soon. Can any parent enlighten me on the benefits of competitive swimming, it doesn’t matter (to me) if she will win a medal eventually, but she is very competitive though. I’m thinking more of using this sports to build up her character, is this too much of a time to invest? Or competitive swimming is really about COMPETITION.
Could parents give me some real life examples of your kids developing to a better character through competitive swimming.
My girls is very active, and easily distracted, but not to the extend of ADHD. As she has so many "to do" lists in her mind, she is never determined to complete a task. I hope this sports which is her second life (if you punish her by taking away her swimming lesson, she will scream like mad), can help her in her character development.
Thanks you very much for your advice
Regards

RE: Does anyone have any comments on PARK WEST CRECHE child care
Hi
I had sent my boy there two years ago, I must say that it didn’t impress me at all…lack of teachers, new supervisor, teacher leaving, poor feedback from parents, teachers and even the helper there. After 2 weeks of trial, I withdrawed my boy from the childcare. However, this situation was 2 years back, it could have improved over the years. Hopefully more parents can give you better feedback. -

RE: All About Ballroom Dancing For Kids
Dear Parents
My DS (3 yrs old +) has always been very shy, but to my surprise, he told me that he's interested in dancing. So I search around for dancing school, however, most of the schools only offer ballet for such a young age group. I'm not sure if I should enrol him in ballet...
If anyone of you has sent your DS to a dancing school (regardless of ballet or any kind of dance) please recommend the school and share your experience with me.
Many thanks in advance.
