I would like choose French as third language. Can anyone share the information about it? Heard many people said it is tough. Thanks

Hi bjlsh, I cannot comment on French as my children do German and Japanese. Learning a new language takes effort, and having an interest and friends to practice with helps. Both my children picked up some basic German (using Duolingo)/Japanese (CDs from an Aunt who learns Japanese as an adult) during the Dec hols and it helps as MOE LC teaches at a fast pace since the students attend lessons only once a week.

For NJC, as long as the student takes a third language, the grade will be included in the report book - regardless of whether the student does well or not, and is used to compute the overall percentage.
For some other IP schools, the grade for third language is considered only if it helps to improve the overall performance.

Thanks for your quick and clear reply. Since it is relative to the grade included in the report book, it looks like more stressful. Is there any information about how many percentage of students in s1 students choose third language in NJC? :thankyou:
