After all it's been 20-30 years!Sorry. I cannot give you comments on how the schools compare besides looking at the registration data, as it will be quite subjective and may not be accurate as my experiences might be skewed. But others may do so. In any case, you guys are ALUMNI of the schools! I'm sure you know the schools better than mebombolinilove\" post_id=\"2047226\" time=\"1637494450\" user_id=\"195910:
Thanks chief kiasu! Yah, we didn't apply for PV or whatever cos we thought sure get in at Phase 2A1. Did not expect the curveball to hit us at all lol.
Any thoughts abt pcps vs shps in terms of the other aspects?

RE: 2022 P1 Registration Exercise for 2023 In-take
Hello, would like to get some opinions please -
My husband and I are alumni from peichun and St Hildas. Both grandparents live within 2km of both schools and will be doing the pickups/caregiving during after school hours. If we use the grandparents address as caregivers, I understand we will be considered as the SC 1-2km priority.
1) which do you think has a higher chance of getting in at Phase 2A SC 1-2km? I looked at the historical data and minused away 20 spots - both schools will require balloting but I do not know the breakdown in terms of the home distance of applicants. We did not do PV anywhere so if we do not get in at Phase 2A, we will be applying for Phase 2C at other schools since both pcps and shps will already require balloting for SC <1km for Phase 2C.
2) any thoughts about sending your child to pcps vs shps? Pros and cons that we can think of - pcps is strong in Mandarin, shps has a very nurturing and Christian environment (we are Christians).
- How are the current academic strengths like? I read on previous forum posts that pcps does not give out much homework now - I guess that's a good thing? I also heard from parents of existing pupils in shps that their academics aren't as top as before?
- it seems like shps CCA options are more than pcps?
- both principals look good from what I can see online
- any other considerations that I should be thinking about?
Thanks in advance for reading my long post. Been thinking a lot about it and would like to tap on the collective wisdom of all gurus here who have been there done that or are also in the same situation!
