    • RE: I need help!!! retake olevel

The only way you can retake 1127 O Levels is to retain in school and take it as a school candidate. Looking at your results, I doubt you can do that.

The only choice left is to retake your O Levels but in 1128 English.

If you are admitted to the DAE programme, you can retake your O Levels (1128) and study in a poly concurrently. If you choose to take O Levels as a private candidate (not in DAE), you would still have to take 1128. But if you score well, you’ll have many more choices than what you have now.

As for local university, if you are admitted into a local polytechnic (and work very very hard), you stand a chance in entering. But if you choose to take up a private diploma, the chances for local uni are definitely lower, or close to zero.

    • RE: English Paper 1 assessment/guide for Sec Students

      Udon:
      Hi

Should I get de \"O\" level guide book for Eng or just Secondary 1?
Could've experience mum or dad pls share.

      Thank you!

      Warmest Regards
Hi Udon, not a parent but a tutor here, would definitely recommend you to get a Lower Sec guide book for your child. Pri and Sec situational writing are different, there are a lot more rules, styles and formats to memorise for Sec. So I'd suggest picking one that's meant for Lower Sec to slowly introduce him/her to Sec situational writing. When he/she is more familiar with it, you can get the higher level books to better his/her communication skills.

Can recommend you to check out the following books:
      - http://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=298&vpd001=81433 (Longman Situational Writing for Lower Sec)
      - http://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=283&vpd001=98059 (Lower Secondary Situational Writing Handbook) (very straightforward style, easy to understand at first read but probably need other supplement to score well)
