    • RE: School shoes

i bought ours at Bata $29.90 then I realised those white school shoes sold at $12 or $16 at ezbuy singapore looks almost the same. Annoyed cos their shoes sizes keep expanding at this rate so bought a couple online for standby.

Thank you for all your feedback. Hope nobody feels offended.

I did think of how other mainstream parents might feel if they come across my query.
But it’s not right to assume that all gifted children equals to child geniuses or must be all rounders who will aced all their subjects. Some of his classmates like mine are only gifted in 1 subject and still struggle with rest of the subjects.

      sweetbaby:
For ACSP, anyone knows if they have any late days?

Friday is a late day for all mainstream/GEP levels ( ie dismiss at 2pm). Wed- early dismissal at 1:15 pm for CCA.
There will be a couple of after school remedials per week to help your child if they are really weak in certain subjects ( i think after term 2).

    • RE: All About GEP

I did ask MOE but their reply did not address my question on the T score required for my kid:

" We refer to your email on the Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS).

      2. The EESIS is awarded to the top one-third of the total number of S1 pupils admitted to all Independent Schools (IS) based on PSLE aggregate score. Eligible pupils will be offered the EESIS if they are admitted to an IS and have met the 2017 EESIS cut-off score based on their PSLE aggregate score (before any bonus points).

      3. Students who are in the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) would need to meet the stringent Primary 6 GE promotional criteria. GEP students will need to perform well in the programme which is more demanding and rigorous than that of the mainstream and be promoted from one level to the next within the GEP. Their promotion is based on their performance during their Primary 4 – 6 years as well as their attitude towards the enriched curriculum. In addition, for them to be eligible for the EESIS, they have to be enrolled in the integrated programme of an IS before they are offered the scholarship.

      Thank you."

On the first read, it sounded like if my kid can get the EESIS as long as he gets enrolled in an independent school ( either DSA or by T score). But there seems to be a set of ‘P6 promotional criteria’ which determine this. i am just wondering if this just means the min T score used by the mainstream. Not sure why they cant just say it clearer.

      Hi,

Anyone knows abt if EESIS is given to P6 GEP students if they subsequently get enrolled in any Independent Schools for sec 1 or offered DSA ? Or do they have to get a minimum T score still like the manstream students?
      Thank you.

I bought this ‘chin rest’ which is clipped onto my boy’s desk. It’s adjustable and actually not that uncomfortable, but my boy didnt want to use it after a while. It’s meant to straighten his back while writing. Though I believe it might work for younger kids who are more ‘obedient’. Mine just stubborn…
