Good evening all. My DS got AL8M for her PSLE. Need guru here to give me feedback on her/my choice of school as follows:-

1. Cedar IP (8)
2. Dunman High IP (8D), a SAP school, my DS loves CL
3. St Nicks O lvl (8M)
4. Cedar O lvl (9)
5. Nan Chiau O lvl (11M), a SAP school, near home
6. SCGS O lvl (9), near her twin sis choice of school.

She wishes to do IP like her sis, so that explains the 1st 2 choices. Thank you in advance.

If she loves IP and CL, can choose DHS as 1st choice -- she may get in if this year's COP drops just a little. For Cedar, she'll likely go through balloting, as the AL8 group can be sizable. If unsuccessful, then her chance at DHS as 2nd choice is further diminished. But of course, the reverse is also true: if unsuccessful at DHS, then her chance at Cedar as 2nd choice decreases. So this is where the tough choice lies:
1) Cedar as 1st choice, to maximize the chance of just getting into any IP school, or
2) take more risk and aim for an IP-SAP school (DHS), but be prepared to accept a non-IP SAP school (SNGS-O, Nan Chiau).

Nan Chiau will be a very safe choice and a good choice (SAP and close to home), you can afford to be aggressive in the earlier choices.

[list][/list]Hi Parents, I m looking for a home tutor to coach P1 English to my twin daughters (both currently in P1). My daughters are pretty weak in their English (grammar, composition, etc). I m hoping to engage the help of home tutor for help. I am looking like twice a week at 1.5 hours each. We are staying at Sengkang area (opposite the mrt station).I had once approached a tuition agency to recommend a tutor, however had rather unpleasant experience- the feeling of being cheated. I was once told that by this tuition agency that they have found me a current school primary teacher with x numbers of years and but after a couple of lessons that I found out that this tutor is not an existing primary school teacher nor taught in any primary school. As a result, I hv grown wary of approaching tuition agency again and would prefer recommendation through word of month. Does anybody has any good contact or recommendation? Thank you .
