Some learning difficulties affect the student’s ability to focus long enough to absorb the new information (ADD). Some learning difficulties affect the student’s speed at processing new information and reacting to it (SPD). Some learning difficulties affect the student’s ability to sit still in a traditional classroom (ADHD). Some learning difficulties affect the student’s ability to write (dysgraphia) or do math (dyscalculia). Some learning difficulties affect the student’s ability to use language (dyslexia or foreign language students). Some learning difficulties are a lack of one of the senses (blindness, deafness).
Many times the learning difficulties are considered "learning differences" as any of the students with the issues listed above can also be very, very bright – that is, they have a high IQ, an ability to learn, but have a difficulty in learning at the same speed and in the same way as what is considered a "normal" student. Oftentimes, these students learn better kinesthetically (hands-on work) or visually rather than from books or lectures. -
RE: All About Down Syndrome
Back in my church on Martin Luther King BLVD we had a special room for these special children of God. Let me tell you something Jim. You need to help this child, the mother needs your help. Jesus can’t help her because he is busy helping our Republican party. Down Syndrome is the most special kind of special because they know they are special. God said in the bible that the mentally ill are the key to the door that keeps jesus locked away from us. Once we get enough of them in our churces the jesus door will be unlocked for us all.

RE: Proper and Effective Way To Discipline Kids
Children require structure and predictable rules. Above all, they require attention. Back in the day, parents bothered their children when they came home from school. Some parents may not have known how to do long division. They may not have known how to write or how to construct a business letter. But they knew how to prod their children because they wanted them to be something.
Parents back then might have said, "Well, what did you do today in geometry?" They may have thought isosceles was a guy from the Bible and that a hypotenuse was a big ugly animal in Africa, but they knew their kids. They would make us go upstairs, get the book, bring it down, sit with them, and go over it. And even if they didn’t understand, they’d pretend to. They pretended to because they knew kids needed an education. That need hasn’t changed.
