Hi Y1 parents, am looking to give away the RI uniform which my kid has outgrown. My helper launders them very well, thought they can be passed on to anyone who’s keen. I’ve posted some pics below, hope this helps.
(1) 5 pcs of White tops (measure 15” at shoulder 18” at waist)
(2) 2 pcs of white tops which measure 14” at shoulder, 17” at waist)
(3) 5 pcs of white bottoms (BiBi&BaBa size 30, 14” at waist)
Drop me a pm if you are keen. I live close to Buona Vista mrt (EW line) and Holland Village mrt (Circle line), so I can meet you at either station. Thanks!

What is the COP for EEIS and SAP schools this year?

RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)
Days are typically long, filled with either core CCA (compulsory, at least 2-3 times per week depending on Sports or Uniform group’s’ commitments), Galileo (Science) or Euler (Maths) programmes, and 3rd lang/RSP. Kid is back after 6pm everyday. On top of all these, there will be revisions for tests, assignments to complete, projects to do, and yes time to be set aside for networking (aka gaming) with friends.
No worries, all the kids will have PHDs at process efficiencies (aka getting as much work done in school as possible) and time management after a while, so that they can continue to pursue their individual passions (esports and gaming for mine).
the kids have longer days and more things on their plates than most of us. But kids are resilient creatures, they can adapt and grow through the experience. -

If you don’t mind driving, go to JB. Just pop into any major mall that sells school uniforms (eg Aeon Mall at Bukit Indah where a lot of Singaporeans hang out). On level two of Aeon dept store, you can see racks of white shirts (at least 6-7 brands) of RI type shirts (Malaysia secondary schools has one common design for all the boys, and it is exact same design as RI’s down to collar and pocket size). You can choose by budget, sewing quality, cloth thickness etc.
Hi, we just went to the new uniform supplier today. I find the material for the uniform white shirt very thin and translucent. Is there any alternative place that we can buy off-the-shelf white shirts? (Not considering custom-made.) How about white shirts for other schools like SJI?
Thank you.
Otherwise, I only know of SJI International that shares the same shirt design as RI in Singapore. There’s only one supplier, and there are very limited stocks for their own students. Hence I won’t recommend that route. -

Why don’t let your child choose? If his mind is made up on HCI, then I’m sure he will be happy there. There’s no right or wrong choice.
Thank you for sharing ur story. Ours is very similar to your story, still finding consensus on RI and HCI. Boy wants his first and only choice, HCI. That is why we are still heafache over this and yet to submit online.O_O_Dad\" post_id=\"1948895\" time=\"1574642465\" user_id=\"61178:
Hi, I hope more parents can see the danger of having their decisions dictated by PSLE scores. Hopefully my personal stories can help you to find a decision-making process that suits your family.
I know this article that has a shelf life of no more than 3 days (before 27 November the deadline), but I certainly hope it can go a long way to help more families. Happy reading and have some laughs.

My son (born in 2006) was grappling between RI and HCI last year. His best friends chose HCI, and he’s familiar with what HCI environment is like (being from NYPS). But he liked the diversity at RI better. He wanted a multicultural environment. Hence he was torn between following his friends to HCI (the GEP kids would be streamed into iSparks classes and generally continue to see each other at class), or going to a completely new environment. We left him to choose. He read up the content on their websites, spoke to his friends, and in the end he chose RI on his own accord. We would have preferred ACSI-IB, but he wasn’t even keen on an IB curriculum, so we just let him be.
Insofar he has been happy and well adapted. The curriculum at RI is stimulating, and the kids there really come from all walks of life, across all races. He made a new circle of friends, continues to keep in touch with those in HCI. Those at HCI are also adjusting well, and are happy with their choice.
RI has a strong emphasis on character and leadership development, and I have seen him matured tremendously in terms of confidence and character over the past year. Hope this helps. -

Yes! I thought that the prefectorial board and PSLs did a great job in putting the programme together.
