just like to portray my situation here and see if it makes sense. my girl is born 2018 and would go for P1 registration in 2024. both me and my husband are GRL, but only my husband is in RC so only his GRL status should qualify. We are in Aljunied GRC, and looking at St Nics, which means we need to move.
my intention was to apply for PV, which would open for 2018 kids somewhere in Sep 2022. which means i need to stay within one km by then (St Nics dont accept PV outside of 1km residence, from my understanding.) initially i was thinking if i am not accepted as a PV, then i would join the GRL over there instead. but then i realise this 2 yr requirement. does it means i need to move by May 2022, compare to PV i only need to move around Sep 2022?
if my husband served as GRL in Aljunied GRC for many years, move to say, Marymount SMC and become EM there but less than two years, would they give the recommendation letter base on accumulative period over two GRC/SMC? or is it subjective to the MP/PA advisor? my husband term is only ending in jan 2023, so we prefer not to prematurely terminate the term as he has his projects he want to see through. putting aside the admin timing, quota etc, is it subjective thing if he has only one year as GRL in the residence GRC (AMK or Marymount) but many years in another GRC (Aljunied GRC)
The best is to check with the CD who will check with PA. It does state that you must have completed at least two years of active continuous service immediately prior to their application, I believe it should count towards the community service.
I would suggest that you both can try to apply now as a GRL in Marymount SMC and your husband can still serve out his term at Aljunied GRC, this way, your husband can still meet the 2 year requirement at Marymount SMC. Check with the CD at Aljunied if he knows the CD at Marymount and get in contact with groups there is they have an opening for GRL.
