Thanks for confirming. We do not live near the school and now need to start earlier. A bit concerned about that and I think it is required for year1 students at least ? isn't ? Chapel prayers are good but wish it can be during or after school hours.

Think it’s required for all catholic boys. And fellowship cca is every Tuesday 3-5pm. Think it’s also a mandate from the archdiocese nowadays. Primary school don’t have this sort of things

Yes looks like it’s everyday for morning prayers @710am, though it never say when this starts, and yes compulsory to join a catholic society as part of a 2nd cca

Would like to ask something, maybe someone can help. My son just got his PSLE results back and he has surpassed the COP 238 for entry as he is from an catholic affiliated school.

Just wondering if he can definitely, get in, if he puts the school as first choice? Or is there a chance that he won’t can’t get in, even if his score is 245? Just want to be clear before applying

Hi, yesterday my son was told by his teacher that he will need to attend an e-camp on 11 Aug for SST. But I’ve not received an email about this from SST. According to the teacher, an email will be sent out. So I’m not sure what’s going on as I assume the selection process is over so I’m wondering why there’s a second selection process. Anyone else Got this?

Thank you parents who have responded to my query on how your kids are coping in SOTA. I read recent articles that there have been a number of teachers leaving SOTA recently? One reservation we have on the school is academic support on the IB curriculum and this recent news just add on more concerns that we have.

From my experience, whose child is in the school, the academic support is adequate. The only thing you got to look out for is how your child manages time. Juggling an art discipline and academics is the tricky bit that takes getting use to, as school hours can be long, and the teaching methods is different, but if your child loves his/her art then they'll cope, because everyone is in the same boat in the year 1, so to speak.

The child must qualify for express stream for sec school

So far, the workload for my daughter is so so, although there’s quite a bit of homework. And yes it’s both individual and group work. On top of that, they have their art disciplines that happens 3-4 times a week and so, school hours can be long. The important thing, as mentioned above, is time management, which my daughter in Year 1, still kinda struggles with. The school tries not to unload too much in the first and second year, as most of the kids are still adjusting to a different way of learning from the regular school system.


But she loves her school, her teachers and this is apparent with her classmates as well. They all like going to school, which is something my daughter don’t feel as strongly, when she was in primary school and that’s a good sign. I think being around kids with the same artistic passion helps, as they all have something in common - their love for the arts.
