Are there specific computer specs for laptops if we want to get one for the boys? Thanks!

I have the same question. DS has mentioned multiple times this week that he may need a portable/light weight laptop for projs and as well as Sch work. Latest LSS need to go online to download notes and worksheets.. Seem like really need to start looking to get a personal laptop for him and a better printer to support.

      Hi

I gave my DS a hp since P4. He used it for google research for project work, youtube for video clips, dictionary to check up tough English words and PLECO to check up tough Chinese words. Of course, he uses it for whats app chat and occasional gaming (only if he asked me for permission). He can bring hp to HCI, but it must be on silent mode all the time, strictly no no usage in class but he can use it for communication in the campus.

I don't mind my ds uses it as e-dictionary. For online research or watching video, PC at home is a preferred choice as I don't want his eye-sight to get much worse. I can make him to agree to some rules but it will be difficult to enforce them if he chooses not to follow.

There is apps out there that can be use to control the usage. I am using this app called \"screen time\" (for android). It can set each day total usage time, what apps that can't be access during sch hrs, what apps that can't be access after bed time.. And you can set it differently on weekend.
