My DD CCA is librarian I have not seen any school take this CCA into DSA consideration. Anyone can advise ?

The DSA process allows schools to select students for admission based on their achievements and talents.
The MOE website has list of schools participating and these participating schools' website has more details. You are right, Library is not one of them.

Congratulations on your child in getting into Xin Min! I am not sure if the other gates are opened in the mornings. I doubt so but you can ring up the school to enquire. On rainy days, parents are allowed to drive into the school via the main gate.

You can always try. Contact the General Office - Admissions with all the certified transcripts or photocopies plus your child's Report Book together with any other accolades. The school has 1 principal and 3 Vice-principals. You would like to get in contact with the relevant staff in charge to make to make an appointment.

Xin Min is a very good school. The students study very hard here but they also get to play very hard too. Check out their Talent Development Programmes ( in the school website), your child's hidden talent might just get spotted!

Fellow Sec 1 pupils' parents would agree that the school is very informative.


We already have all the fact sheets for our ds or dd to prepare for Day 1. No second guessing required for what to wear n bring or report etc which is great.

It was especially great that they even provided the pupils such a detailed programme timetable for the 3 orientation days! :rahrah:

Hi all…need help here. My daughter is going pri 6 next year. She has an affiliated sec sch. However, since pri 4, she has expressed interest going into SOTA. How and when does SOTA take in pri 6 student? If she does not meet the entry requirement of SOTA when she gets her PSLE result, can she still put her affiliated sec sch as first choice during her selection?

Please assist.Thanks.

If your dd has the talent and is academically strong, you should keep a lookout in the SOTA website for its Open House and registration for its Talent Academy.
Just like any DSA ( direct school admission), it is the school ( including SOTA) that makes the final decision to select and admit the child. Good luck!

You are so right. The interviewer did question my DD on such questions but was asking her about RGS.

Did not know that schools are linked up. Luckily, DD told the truth!

For my DD’s school, I was informed that a panel of school advisors ( autonomous school) would review and make the final decision on which candidate be given CO, WL n Rejection. This is done after all shortlisted candidates had completed all tests, auditions, trials and interview. DD recalled the interviewer taking down her answers to the questions posed.

XMS is 1 of the 28 autonomous secondary school and its Creative Arts Complex now under construction will be ready when school starts in 2015.

Xinmin Secondary DSA results received thru primary school today. They only offered approx 30 places. :congrats:
