Hi phtthp,

Thank you for these useful info. My son intends to take PCME.
He actually wants to pursue a career in Digital Forensics. Hopefully, studying this traditional Forensic Science would provide him some knowledge of the process of investigation…
Hi Chloeong,

dont mind if I ask, u staying around Ang Mo Kio area ? Your son's ex primary school, also a mission school, hence u tend to choose mission Secondary schools like PHS, Kuo Chuan, Holy Innocent High ?

Hi phtthp,
I am staying very near mrt, so I am looking for a school accessible via mrt with minimum walking. We do not want to send to a SAP school. My son’s primary school is not a mission school. Our criteria is to send to a school with affiliated JC, and most of them happen to be mission schools. We are fine with this. That is why we did not consider Fuhua or Zhonghua.

Hi Chloeong,

First of all, congratulations on your child's successful appeal into PHS. As a PHS alumnus myself, I am happy and proud to tell you that PHS is a good school. However, I hope you are aware that since PHS is a Christian school, there is daily devotion after morning assembly and students are required to attend 1-hour chapel service once a week.

I wish your child a memorable and fulfilling secondary school life at PHS. :rahrah:
Hi Snoopy81,

Thank you so much! Yes, I am aware of this and we are fine with this. I was from another mission school too. After hearing this from a PHS alumnus, we are even more convinced that we have made the right choice. 🤗

Hi phtthp,
Thank you so much for your comprehensive feedback!
I am so happy to make the right choice now! We are looking forward to begin our journey in PHS tomorrow! 😃

I’m curious. What’s your son t-score?

By applying to PHS and KCPSS, it means that your son should have a t-score of 236, missing the cut to both schools by ballot - assuming both were among your choices. Your son should not have problem meeting the lower COP of HIHS if you had included it in your selection.

Hi Floppy.

You are right. Both PHS and KCPSS were among our choice, but missed the cut to PHS by ballot. He was posted to HIHS instead.

Congrats! Presbyterian High School is a good school, and very near the MRT.

Kuo Chuan is probably very similar and indistinguishable from PHS. Not worth switching again unless KC is literally at your doorstep and your child can walk home.

Both are affiliated to SAJC.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We also like PHS because it is sheltered all the way from the MRT and it also offers Economics as O-level subject. My child also interested in its Forensic Science programme.

Any reviews on Holy Innocents High School?

Go for PHS, accept PHS Transfer offer because

out of more than 100+ Secondary schools in Sg, only PHS one school in Sg, offer the rare, unique niche specialization, Forensic Science and Pharmacy. No other school offer this TD, talent development programme. The closest school that offer is Fuhua Secondary, in Jurong, but even then, Fuhua only offer Forensic Science one component only, Fuhua doesnt offer 2nd specializatiion, Pharmacy

Both KC and PHS are affliated to the same SAJC, St Andrew JC
As for Kuo Chuan KC, apart from leadership, i do not see any other nice TD available

Holy Innnocent High is affliated to Catholic JC
between Holy Innocent and PHS, is better to choose PHS, because to me my own opinion only, SAJC is better than CJC, for Science stream.
Hi phtthp,

• RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting

We received the news yesterday that my child is successful in appealing to Presbyterian High School. Since yesterday was half day, we need to go to posted school tomorrow to withdraw and report to PHS.

We also appealed to Kuo Chuan Presbyterian sec school. They’ll let us know by next week.
May I check which school is better holistically?
Can we change school twice?
